The Manufacturing Engineer III - Advanced Manufacturing oversees specific sub-sections of complex projects and collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve product designs and production processes. This role focuses on implementing solutions that enhance system performance, troubleshooting issues, and working with suppliers to integrate new technologies. They demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple components within a larger initiative.

Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, with a commitment to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position in the United States is $103510-$137121. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role may also be eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus, and a quarterly sales incentive bonus, subject to eligibility requirements.

  • New Product Process Integration: Coordinate cross-functionally with professional engineers and other supporting roles responsible for executing the release of the next generation of S&C products and solutions. Assist in translating product requirements and gathering data from marketing, sales, and customer feedback into authored manufacturing process requirements that align with the objectives of Production Operations.
  • Process Development: Manage assigned sections of complex manufacturing projects, ensuring alignment with SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) metrics and project timelines.
  • Project Management: Manage a team of professional engineers and other supporting roles responsible for planning and executing projects that achieve the objectives of Production Operations.
  • Process Innovation: Research and assist in the selection of suppliers and other vendor partners with a focus on driving the identification and adoption of new technology to advance manufacturing processes in alignment with customer expectations and company goals.
  • Project Reporting: Utilize data-driven analysis to inform process, equipment, and production decisions. Monitor project and process targets, recommending strategic changes when needed to meet deadlines.
  • Supplier Engagement: Coordinate with external suppliers to source and integrate advanced technologies into manufacturing systems.
  • Testing & Validation: Lead trials and testing activities to confirm the performance of new processes or equipment before full-scale implementation.
  • Automation & Technology Advancement: Support the integration of advanced automation technologies into manufacturing processes. Monitor industry trends and the development of the technological value stream to improve efficiency and output, and present findings to senior-level engineers.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the cross-functional team to drive continuous improvement efforts that enhance the quality of processes within the Manufacturing Engineering function, ensuring results directly support improved customer satisfaction.
  • Compliance: Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.

Required

  • 5-7 Years of experience in Manufacturing engineering.

  • 3+ years of experience in advanced manufacturing and process optimization.

  • 3-4 examples of proven success leading plan, schedule and execution of complex manufacturing process project.

  • Good skills in effective problem-solving and able to communicate across some levels of the organization related to concepts of supply-chain, production, and manufacturing.

  • A great understanding of various manufacturing technologies and methods, preferably within the manufacturing industry.

  • Good interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience.

  • Great communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation), able to partner with and communicate with customers, both technical and non-technical.

  • Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the quality function.

  • Good organizational planning, coordinating internal and external resources, and juggling key demands.

  • Sound business sense and analytical skills with the ability to use and analyze data to drive informed actions, solve complex problems, and drive learning.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, including the flexibility to work extended hours when necessary.

  • Great computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Power BI, or other similar systems. Including strong data analysis skills.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.

Preferred

Master's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

  • CAD Proficiency
