Description

What You Will Do:

As an Actuator Technician (Disassembly and Assembly) you would be responsible for tearing down / breaking down parts, cleaning and sandblasting actuators and building actuator assemblies in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Job Functions & Expected Outcomes: Your Accountabilities in the Role-

Learn the purpose of an actuator and how it is utilized in the pulp and paper industry.

  • Be capable of troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues that develop during normal job functions.
  • Setup work environment for efficiency in assembly.
  • Use common industrial tools such as wire strippers, soldering iron, crimping tools Etc.
  • Be comfortable in a non-air-conditioned environment
  • Build crates with necessary pneumatic and cutting tools
  • Utilize sand blasting equipment when necessary
  • Be proficient in written communication used in inspection reports
  • Be able to read work instructions, blueprints, bill of materials and production orders
  • Tear down components saturated in oil
  • Operate angle grinders and buffing equipment
  • Be able to use calipers, micrometers, tape measure and other inspection equipment
  • Work with the team to ensure customer expectations and production requirements are met.
  • Be able to work in a team environment
  • Be able to count inventory and place component parts where necessary
  • Recognize and communicate replacement needs for worn/damaged tools as necessary
  • Evaluate warranty claims and recommend necessary corrective actions
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
  • Keep an organized inventory of tools, supplies and workspace
  • Be able to work with electrical control panels or willingness to learn
  • Adhere to safety protocols and company guidelines
  • Communicate effectively the team to clarify instructions and address production issues.
  • Be willing to float to other Departments to meet production demands as needed.
  • Work required overtime periodically

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday - 6:15 am - 2:45 pm. 30-minute lunch break.

The job criteria may include other duties, responsibilities and activities, which may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Requirements

Position Requirements:

A. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

B. Experience: Previous assembly / manufacturing background, Microsoft platform proficient.

C. Functional Skills: Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift up to 50 pounds. Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail

D. Language Skills: Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, is essential for effective communication with team members, documenting work, and ensuring safety in the workplace.
