Job Description Summary: Reporting to the Vice President, Operations, the Director of Service will oversee the methodology, standards, processes, procedures, performance and quality relating to the servicing of fleet assets as well as the research and development and special projects related to the fleet.

• Maintains a safe working environment by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc's health and safety guidelines.

• Accountable for setting the service standards governing all service related activities across the business

• Establishes metrics and measures to continually assess the effectiveness of the servicing of the fleet company-wide

• Drives service performance across multiple regions and countries with competing needs

• Oversees research and development activities related to the fleet including prioritizing initiatives, developing products, designing solutions, working cross functional on implementation

• Oversees the special projects related to the servicing of the fleet including resourcing projects and monitoring progress

• Manages staff, providing leadership for hiring, training, development, coaching, performance management, and all other people management practices.

• Works through a matrix organization to implement service initiatives and changes into the company

• Participates in the annual budget process

• Oversees and/or performs policy, process, and procedure audits at branches

• Utilizes multiple communications channels to operators across the company to provide open and transparent communications on all topics related to the operations of the business

• Works effectively with other departments including Safety, Quality, HR, Finance, IT and others to align priorities, projects, change initiatives, and communications

• Establishes and consistently meets or exceeds quality and delivery standards for products and services for internal and external customers

• Promotes a collective and positive safety attitude by providing leadership by example.

• Etablit des mesures et des indicateurs pour evaluer continuellement l'efficacite de l'entretien de la flotte a l'echelle de l'entreprise

• Impulse la performance du service a travers plusieurs regions et pays avec des besoins concurrents

• Supervise les activites de recherche et developpement liees a la flotte, y compris la priorisation des initiatives, le developpement de produits, la conception de solutions, le travail interfonctionnel sur la mise en uvre

• Supervise les projets speciaux lies a l'entretien de la flotte, y compris l'affectation des ressources aux projets et le suivi des progres

• Gere le personnel, assurant le leadership pour l'embauche, la formation, le developpement, l'encadrement, la gestion des performances et toutes les autres pratiques de gestion des personnes.

• Travaille a travers une organisation matricielle pour mettre en uvre des initiatives et des changements de service dans l'entreprise

• Participe au processus budgetaire annuel

• Supervise et/ou effectue des audits de politiques, processus et procedures dans les succursales

• Utilise de multiples canaux de communication avec les operateurs a travers l'entreprise pour fournir des communications ouvertes et transparentes sur tous les sujets lies aux operations de l'entreprise

• Travaille efficacement avec d'autres departements, y compris la Securite, la Qualite, les RH, la Finance, l'Informatique et autres pour aligner les priorites, les projets, les initiatives de changement et les communications

• Etablit et respecte ou depasse constamment les normes de qualite et de livraison pour les produits et services destines aux clients internes et externes

• Favorise une attitude de securite collective et positive en donnant l'exemple.

Required Qualifications:

• Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

• 10+ years equipment service experience with progressively responsible positions

Qualifications requises :

• Diplome postsecondaire dans un domaine connexe ou experience de travail equivalente.

• 10+ annees d'experience en service d'equipement avec des postes a responsabilite croissante

Preferred Qualifications:

• Large fleet service equipment highly preferred

• Relevant service certifications are an asset.

• Management training an asset.

• Welding training an asset
