Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Assistant Director for Research Development for the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation. Under the leadership of the Executive Director for Research Development & Strategy, this position will function as the Assistant Director for Research Development. The role will focus on advancing Rutgers-New Brunswick's strategic priorities related to sponsored program support across various NB and the Chancellor Signature Initiatives.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Provides executive leadership for the university's expansive research enterprise, encompassing all 11 schools and over 175 centers and institutes.
- Serves as the strategic driver of institutional research excellence, the NB OfR advances Rutgers-New Brunswick's national and global standing by fostering innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and publicly engaged scholarship across faculty, staff, and scholars at all levels.
- Plays a pivotal role in cultivating an inclusive and vibrant research ecosystem by advocating for institutional resources, catalyzing strategic investments, and promoting cross-sector engagement.
- Advises on and advances university-wide priorities, aligning initiatives with the mission and vision of Rutgers-New Brunswick and the broader institution.
- In close coordination with university leadership-including the Offices of the President, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, University Research, Rutgers Foundation, and Institutional Research and Academic Planning-the NB OfR also stewards infrastructure development and strategic partnerships to position the campus at the forefront of scholarly innovation.
- Leads the facilitation of mid-to-large scale multi-million dollar funding for Rutgers -New Brunswick's units and the Chancellor-reporting Signature Initiatives, i.e., Climate and Energy, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Life Sciences, and Behavioral Health and proposal development for the limited submission opportunities.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- A Bachelors degree preferably in STEM, accounting, business, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A minimum of 5 years relevant research development experience.

- Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver's license would be required for this position.
