The South-Town refrigeration construction Project Manager oversees projects from planning and design through installation and commissioning, ensuring timely and budget-conscious completion of refrigeration projects in the commercial industry.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist with bidding and the management of mechanical, refrigeration, piping, plumbing, and electrical systems throughout the pre-contract phase. This includes conducting job-site surveys, performing load calculations, developing system designs, selecting equipment, preparing and professionally presenting sales proposals, and securing orders.
- Act as liaison between South-Town and the customer regarding all communications, both verbal and written. This shall include periodic visits to customers, handling complaints, and assisting in collection of payments when necessary.
- The Project Manager is responsible for actively pursuing and managing all assigned leads from initial contact through resolution.
- Manage, lead, supervise, direct, and delegate appropriate tasks to both Refrigeration and Mechanical Assistant Project Managers.
- Negotiate pricing with our partners for equipment and materials needed on projects.
- Attend sales meetings, conventions, trade fairs, and engineering society activities on an as needed basis.
- Assist the estimating department with estimating piping construction jobs as needed.
- Maintain project plans, budgets, and accurate project documents.
- Develop project schedules, plan materials, and purchase orders, ensuring work is within project scope.
- Responsible for obtaining subcontractor estimates and bids, performing project buyouts, and managing subcontractors' progress against budget.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams, facilitating effective communication.
- Identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate them, while managing project change orders effectively.
- Prepare scopes of work for subcontractors on upcoming bids.
- Assist in resolving problems which may arise during construction projects.
- Review plans and specifications for completeness and prepare RFI's for additional information required.
- Monitor cost on projects for variances to the estimate and for use in preparation of bids on future projects.
- Stay abreast of current technology and construction methods to continually improve production and quality.
- Manage close out documents: As-builts, warranty letters, start-up reports, balance reports, O&M'S.
- Support Construction Field Manager to ensure all field employees adherence to our health and safety standards and policies
- Work with project construction team to conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and improve future projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Current, valid driver's license.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in mechanical (HVAC/R) project management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other business software; able to quickly learn and adapt to new digital tools and systems.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Collaborative team player.

- Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to guide, motivate, and hold teams accountable while fostering a positive, respectful, and results-driven work environment.
- Ability to solve problems and offer viable solutions to clients.

Preferred Skills
- AutoCAD/Revit experience.
- Bachelor's degree in construction/project management.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing office work, attending meetings, or at customer sites.
- Required to climb ladders, stairs, and navigate work sites safely.
- Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods during site inspections.
- Comfortable with exposure to various customer environments, including noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.
- Ability to travel between multiple sites, including active construction environments, as required.
- Must lift and carry materials or tools up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Frequent use of computers, phone, and other standard office equipment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, on the phone, and in virtual meetings.
- Must have the capacity to hear and communicate clearly in both office and noisy environments.
- Expected to travel between sites as needed.
