Role Summary

The Rivian Indirect Procurement team is seeking a highly motivated, independent, and exceptional IT Global Supply Manager to support Rivian's mission of bringing innovative products to life. This role is responsible for managing the IT Hardware and Telecom category for indirect procurement. The Global Supply Manager (IT Hardware & Telecom) will oversee all commercial aspects of new business awards and support renewals, present award recommendations to senior leadership, negotiate cost & agreements, and build strong partnerships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. The role will also be responsible for managing strategic suppliers by establishing and leading quarterly business reviews to ensure ongoing alignment, performance, and value delivery.

This position requires building and executing a category strategy, inclusive of conducting spend analysis, collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess performance, and ensuring suppliers meet Rivian's cost, quality, and timeline objectives. The successful candidate will own the end-to-end sourcing process, driving both operational excellence and strategic supplier engagement. This role reports to the Manager of IT Software, Hardware & Telecom within the Indirect Procurement organization.


Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise sourcing and managing IT Hardware and Telecom. Previous experience in Software, and Professional Services is a plus.
  • Demonstrated expertise in IT hardware and Telecommunications procurement, including drafting and managing RFPs, leading complex price and commercial negotiations, and managing supplier and value added reseller (VAR) relationships to drive cost optimization, performance, and contract compliance.
  • Work closely alongside stakeholders to meet their technical requirements, execute against set milestones and track sourcing progress.
  • Deep understanding of the strategic sourcing (7-step) process and end-to-end Sourcing-to-Pay (S2P) best practices.
  • Facilitate the strategic sourcing (7-step) process independently. Including prospective supplier identification, RFx execution, capability assessment, comprehensive bid analysis, contract negotiation and execution, etc.
  • Ability to operate autonomously to support business stakeholders with new purchases, support renewals, against aggressive timelines.
  • Ability to support internal stakeholders demonstrating a keen ability to drive detailed project plans while achieving cost savings.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of supplier quotations and historical spend data, leveraging detailed cost breakdowns to identify pricing trends, cost drivers, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Proven experience in leading sourcing projects, developing and implementing sourcing strategies, managing RFx processes, and presenting recommendations, including award nominations and sourcing strategies, to senior leadership for approval.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of relevant Information Technology (IT) Hardware & Telecom procurement experience
  • 3+ years of experience performing strategic sourcing, cost analysis, negotiations and contract negotiations in an indirect procurement environment
  • Previous ERP systems and purchase order processing experience - Coupa preferred
  • Previous Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system experience - Ironclad preferred
  • Able to work independently with little instruction and can adapt to change
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to details and deadlines
  • Able to work well with others in a team environment
  • Effective communication skills and customer service approach
  • Proactive and solution-oriented, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.

Pay Disclosure

The salary range for this role is $78,200 - $97,700 for Illinois and Michigan based applicants, $85,600 - $107,000 for Irvine, California based applicants, and $93,000 - $116,300 for Palo Alto, California based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.

The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus and equity awards.
