What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a highly analytical and technically driven Project Manager to own indirect materials planning, factory Opex governance, and equipment lifecycle management for Production Control operations. This role drives cost optimization, asset performance, and cross-functional execution across Engineering, Global Supply Management, Logistics, and Operations. The ideal candidate combines strong financial and data analysis capability with hands-on equipment and systems knowledge to deliver scalable, cost-efficient factory operations.

What You'll Do
  • Own factory Opex tracking, forecasting, and variance management; develop dashboards to monitor budget adherence.Lead quarterly Blanket Purchase Orders (BPOs) across indirect spend and equipment leasing categories
  • Manage one-time purchase requests, validate demand, and ensure compliance with approval workflows.Analyze spend, utilization, and performance data to identify cost-reduction and efficiency opportunities
  • Conduct Buy vs. Lease and total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses for industrial and automated equipment.Own end-to-end lifecycle management of equipment including forklifts, electric fleets, AGVs/AMRs, and recycling systems
  • Track equipment KPIs such as uptime, downtime, utilization, energy/fuel consumption, and productivity.Lead vendor onboarding, contract readiness, SLA enforcement, and performance audits
  • Plan and support charging and fueling infrastructure for electric and propane equipment.Own asset traceability through telematics, CMMS, WMS, and compliance audits
  • Drive spare parts strategy, inventory planning, and min-max replenishment logic.Conduct RCA and CAPA for equipment failures and reliability issues
  • Support tooling, consumables, vending machines, and system-driven operational improvements.Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Safety, Logistics, NPI, and GSM to deliver scalable solutions
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize cost, equipment reliability, and vendor performance

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, equipment management, procurement, or cost analysis
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, SQL, and BI tools (Power BI / Tableau)
  • Experience with BPOs, purchasing systems, and approval workflows
  • Working knowledge of WMS, telematics, and asset management platforms
  • Technical understanding of industrial equipment (forklifts, AGVs/AMRs, balers, automation systems)
  • Familiarity with charging/fueling infrastructure and safety standards (OSHA, NFPA, DOT)
  • Strong analytical, project management, and cross-functional communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives with minimal oversight in fast-paced environments
