About our group:

We are responsible for all aspects of Media development support systems, technology integration, equipment design and modifications, operations data gathering and analysis, failure mode analysis and corrective actions, performance validation, media development process support requests.

About the role - you will:

As a member of Seagate RMO Equipment Engineering, the Development Engineer II provides comprehensive solutions to technical problems through the application of engineering analysis, principles, theories, and concepts.


Working to become an expert in your field, you are continuing to develop skills to provide effective and complete solutions to complex problems involving multiple factors. Examples of process support include Media Wash, Buff, UV and Lube processes, Automation systems support, and new process development support.



In order to accomplish assignments, this position requires frequent intra-organizational contact - good communication skills are necessary. Development Engineers are assigned work pertaining to the development and modification of equipment that affects operations. Hands-on support for equipment upgrades, troubleshooting, and return to operations is a top priority of responsibility for this position.



There may be some personnel management responsibilities in this position, depending on the Development Engineers experience and overall engineering project assignments within cross functional teams.



Within the defined scope of assigned projects, the Development Engineer will provide the technical and engineering support required, ensuring successful completion of complex equipment related projects.

You will be assigned to participate in the engineering aspects of the specification, design, and implementation of solutions for some or all phases of new manufacturing equipment development from conception through end-of-life.

As pertains to their assignments, Development Engineers assist Project management in defining technical project milestones, measurement systems, and engineering resource requirements.

Your experience includes:

  • Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering design experience
  • SolidWorks skills a requirement
  • B.S. in Mechatronics, Mechanical or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education

Location:

Location: Fremont, California

The estimated base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $121,000. The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
