Responsibilities

This position provides multimedia and graphic design services to the Community Financial System, Inc family of companies. Responsibilities include creating engaging motion graphics, video/audio assets, animated content, and print/digital collateral that align with brand guidelines and reinforce brand cohesiveness across all channels.

The role requires a strong understanding of the company's business lines and product offerings to support retail & commercial banking, insurance, benefit plan administration and wealth management with effective marketing and communication assets.

Essential Duties:

  • Concept and create multimedia content including motion graphics, short-form videos, animated explainers, audio-supported visuals, social graphics, banner ads, and digital-first creative campaigns.
  • Design and produce the internal townhall videos including animated headers, digital layouts, and interactive elements as appropriate.
  • Collaborate closely with the in-house marketing team to develop concepts and visual assets-motion, digital, print-that adhere to the brand guidelines.
  • Supporting marketing teams with print items as needed: advertisements, handouts, newsletters, etc.
  • Prepare final design files for production, ensuring they meet technical specifications and quality standards.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality.
  • Work with marketing partners and vendors to facilitate production of marketing materials.
  • Stay current with design trends, tools, and best practices to ensure innovative and effective design solutions.
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all job-specific training requirements in a timely fashion.

Qualifications

Education/Training:

  • B.A. degree in Multimedia Design, Motion Graphics, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or related creative field.
  • At least three (3) years' experience in multimedia design, motion graphics, video production, or related digital creative roles.
  • Strong portfolio that showcases a range of mediums (print, digital, motion, social, email, environmental) and design expertise (colors, layout, typography)

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Proficiency of motion graphics or video editing software (After Effects, Premiere Pro, etc.)
  • Experience with web design, HTML/CSS, or UI/UX design is preferred
  • Experience with camera operation, lighting, and basic filming techniques preferred
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to adhere to brand guidelines
  • Strong understanding of typography, color theory, layout, and design principles
  • Detail-oriented, organized, capable of managing time efficiently and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to receive and implement feedback in a positive and constructive manner
  • Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail and trends
  • Understanding of marketing operations' role in cross-channel marketing campaigns
  • Understanding of sales and marketing processes and best practices
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion to learn and grow
  • Copywriting skills are a plus
  • Familiarity with AI and data-driven marketing technologies
