For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering a $3,000 sign-on bonus for qualified applicants. This bonus will be prorated for part-time positions. Please note this bonus is not available for per-diem positions. Current MaineHealth employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth employees are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

The Patient Service Representative (PSR ) serves as the first point of contact for patients within the Surgical Care Farmington ambulatory practice. This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while supporting patient scheduling, registration, and administrative functions to ensure smooth clinic operations and a positive patient experience.

Schedule & Location

  • Full-time: 40 hours per week
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • Onsite position - no remote or hybrid work

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greet patients in a professional, courteous, and welcoming manner
  • Register patients and verify demographic, insurance, and referral information
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
  • Answer incoming phone calls and route messages appropriately
  • Collect co-pays and process payments in accordance with MaineHealth policies
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Communicate effectively with clinical staff to support patient flow
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and MaineHealth confidentiality standards
  • Perform general administrative and clerical duties as needed

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: Previous office experience with medical office experience preferred.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Proficient computer skills.
