Job Overview:
As a Maintenance Manager you will oversee all maintenance operations, ensuring equipment reliability, efficient processes, and safe plant conditions. This role leads maintenance planning, preventative programs, and continuous improvement initiatives while managing budgets, capital projects, and contractor performance. The Maintenance Manager supports equipment design and upgrades, maintains parts inventory, provides technical guidance-including PLC support-and coaches the maintenance team. Additionally, this position plays a key role in safety compliance, engineering documentation, and new product development, with other duties assigned by the Plant Manager.



Responsibilities:





    • Oversee strategic maintenance planning, departmental leadership, and staff performance.






    • Drive equipment reliability initiatives and continuous improvement of process equipment.






    • Manage the maintenance budget, including capital expenditure planning and requests.






    • Lead capital projects from scope and design through installation, startup, and debugging of new equipment.






    • Improve processes, layouts, tools, and equipment to enhance safety, quality, cost efficiency, and reliability.






    • Ensure equipment uptime by coordinating maintenance and repairs according to established procedures.






    • Adapt machinery and equipment designs to meet evolving plant and production needs.






    • Develop and execute preventative maintenance and energy management programs.






    • Select, coordinate, and evaluate outside contractors, and oversee maintenance parts inventory control.





  • Provide technical leadership-including PLC programming as needed-while guiding technicians, ensuring OSHA compliance, supporting lean initiatives, reviewing engineering documentation, and contributing to new product development efforts.



Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline or, an equivalent combination of work experience, training and/or education may be considered.
  • Strongly prefer a minimum of 3-5 years in manufacturing shop floor experience.
  • Must have prior experience supervising or managing a team, strong leadership skills.
  • Must have prior project management experience.
  • Must have demonstrated machine and equipment troubleshooting skills.
  • Must have knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts, continuous improvement and problem solving methodologies.
  • Proficient in Computer applications; specifically MS Office, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Manufacturing software, SAP system, Allen/Bradley PLC's to include: SLC-500 and 5000, and Micro-logics.
  • Ability to work within budget and timescales.
  • Able to work on weekends when required.
