Job Description

Pay: $20-$24/hour

Work Schedule: Mon - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm; hybrid work schedule (2 days remote/3 days in office)

Full-Time position is eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Short Term Disability, Life/Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Flexible Spending Accounts, Long Term Disability, and several voluntary supplemental benefit offerings. JOB SUMMARY:

The Coordinator I, Payroll plans and performs all duties relating to the effective and accurate payment and tracking of all payroll expenses for Goodwill of Colorado and affiliates. The Coordinator works under the general direction and supervision of the Payroll Manager and is in frequent communication with most other departments within Goodwill of Colorado as well as outside agencies regarding payroll related matters.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Performs all payroll related functions for the Organization as determined by the Payroll Manager.
  • Ensures timecards and electronic time reports are received by remote locations and are properly documented and recorded in the accounting records of the Organization.
  • Responds to payroll-related questions/concerns employees may have. Responses may be by phone or email.
  • Enters data into the payroll software.
  • Creates and imports electronic time batches into the payroll software.
  • Ensures that payroll checks/vouchers are distributed on a bi-weekly basis to all employees (some areas are weekly).
  • Ensures that all legally required wage withholding information or tax information is provided to UKG and paid correctly by UKG. This includes Federal and State withholding taxes, FICA (Federal Insurance Contributions Act) and Medicare taxes, Unemployment Insurance, and garnishments.
  • Verify employees are eligible for direct deposit. Enters direct deposit information into the payroll system and completes the pre-note process so that direct deposits are properly executed.
  • Inform the Payroll Manager of cases where any client or employee is not strictly adhering to correct payroll procedures.
  • Runs all other standard payroll reports periodically as required. These reports may include but are not limited to wage summaries to residential providers, wage verification requested by Social Security or other authorized agencies, and reports for wage adjustments.
  • Develop an expertise of the payroll software and train other staff in aspects of payroll procedures as needed.
  • Maintains confidentiality over all financial, payroll and personnel information.
  • Performs other duties as required.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:



  • A High School diploma or its equivalent is required with some Bookkeeping or Accounting courses.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.


Experience:



  • Three (3) years' previous experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Ultimate Kronos Group (UKG) and UKG Work Force Management is preferred.


Other:



  • Must have a solid background in applying Accounting and Payroll procedures.
  • Must be able to write legibly and communicate well.
  • Computer proficiency is required.
  • Word processing, spreadsheet, and computerized payroll system experience required.
  • Ability to work in-office (Colorado Springs or Denver) and/or remotely as approved by the Payroll Manager and depending on current business needs.
  • Completeness, accuracy, and punctuality of payroll data, checks, payroll tax filings and other assignments.
  • Ability to assist the Organization in obtaining an unqualified opinion on the Organization's audited financial statements.
  • The ability to assist the Payroll Manager in meeting or exceeding accreditation standards approved or endorsed by Goodwill International Industries (GII) and CARF.
  • Responsibility shown in administrating all aspects of the payroll function and ensuring that all payroll information is kept confidential.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and respond to special requests and expressed desires of the Payroll Manager, Director of Finance, and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
  • The manner in which this individual conducts themselves should reflect the high standards of integrity and morals, which are expected of all Goodwill of Colorado personnel.
