Job Description

This role is based in our 605 Third Ave or Chicago office.

As Senior Director of Media & Events Marketing, you will be a dynamic, results-oriented leader with a proven track record of leveraging multimedia, social media, and video content to amplify brand presence, drive audience engagement, and increase event attendance.

In this role, you will oversee the development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies to elevate the Foodservice portfolio's brands across media and events. You will lead a high-performing team, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and champion innovative content marketing, video, and social media to achieve measurable results.

This position is ideal for a strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and is passionate about using cutting-edge marketing techniques to enhance brand reputation and drive business growth. Reporting directly to the VP of Marketing, you will work closely with sales, editorial, and senior management teams while mentoring a team of media, subscriptions, event, and social media marketers across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities include owning the overarching marketing strategy and execution for events, media properties, and marketing services, with a focus on audience engagement, event attendance, and ROI-driven campaigns. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of the Foodservice portfolio's brands and create meaningful connections with audiences.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Event Marketing Strategy & Campaign Management
    • Develop and execute integrated event marketing strategies that align with the vision of amplifying the Foodservice portfolio's brands across media and events.
    • Inspire and lead a team of event marketers to deploy multi-channel campaigns (email, paid social, SEM, affiliate marketing, etc.) that grow the marketing database, engage target audiences, and improve attendee KPIs.
    • Directly manage and coach event marketing and audience acquisition teams to ensure successful campaign execution and alignment with business goals.
  • Multimedia & Social Media Marketing
    • Champion the use of multimedia content, including video, social media, and interactive formats, to amplify brand reach and drive audience engagement.
    • Collaborate with editorial and creative teams to produce high-quality video content, social media campaigns, and user-generated content that resonate with target audiences.
    • Leverage social media platforms to build community, foster engagement, and drive traffic to events and media properties.
  • Content Marketing & Audience Engagement
    • Use compelling, relevant content to attract, nurture, and convert prospects throughout the buyer journey.
    • Partner with marketers to create and execute ROI-driven digital campaigns, including landing pages, email marketing, and digital funnels designed to convert leads into attendees or subscribers.
    • Develop and manage a content calendar that aligns with audience needs and business objectives, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels.
  • Media & Subscription Management
    • Collaborate with editorial teams to ideate, develop, and produce branded content assets for lead generation and audience engagement.
    • Oversee segmentation and targeting for digital campaigns, including newsletters and custom marketing services, in partnership with Informa Engage shared services.
    • Use first-party and behavioral data to create personalized promotions that convert readers into long-term subscribers.
    • Manage the media marketing and subscriptions team, ensuring effective governance of subscription data, promotions, and access to paid media platforms.
  • Marketing Automation & Data Analysis
    • Optimize marketing automation systems (e.g., Eloqua) to streamline campaigns, improve lead retention, and increase conversion rates.
    • Analyze campaign performance and provide detailed reporting to senior management, offering actionable insights to inform future strategies.
    • Monitor revenue performance, identify areas for improvement, and address issues in the marketing funnel to reduce churn and improve customer retention.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required. Minimum of 10+ years' experience in marketing or advertising - foodservice and event experience preferred
  • Proven experience in multimedia marketing, including video production, social media strategy, and content marketing.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a high-performing team.
  • Expertise in event marketing, audience acquisition, and subscription management.
  • Data-driven mindset with a track record of using analytics to optimize marketing performance and drive ROI.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and functions.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for innovation and digital transformation.
  • Experience in developing and managing multiple budget timelines and deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Proficiency in marketing automation platforms (e.g., Eloqua), Digital marketing & social media channels (LinkedIn, Meta et al), Analytics tools (PowerBI, Google Analytics), data repositories, CMS, etc.
  • Travel < 20% per year.

The salary range for this role is $145,000-$165,000, basedon experience.
