Description
Reporting to the VP, Major and Principal Giving, the Development Coordinator supports the VP and other team members, as needed, in raising and stewarding major and principal-level gifts for Children's National Hospital. This role will directly and indirectly interface with the institution's top donors, leaders, and volunteers. This role will also support the international portfolio of work. This role will support the Major and Principal Giving team in individual donor strategies, engagement, and stewardship, plus department-wide priorities to drive revenue and team productivity. Activities may include preparing and writing donor correspondence, organizing donor meetings and tours, database management, international travel planning and donor support, and other administrative functions as needed. Must have strong writing, communication and organizational skills. Strong candidates will also have specific experience and/or interest in donor engagement and fundraising priorities. May also manage a portfolio of donors and prospects with the expectation to maintain and grow relationships. Qualifications
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field (Required) Minimum Work Experience 2 years Related experience (Required) Required Skills/Knowledge Goal oriented, strong organizational skills, communications and interpersonal skills necessary. Needs to have stamina, be flexible, courteous, patient, positive and be an enthusiastic team player. Should be able to adapt easily to constantly changing situations, be creative and able to produce prompt and effective results. Vehicle is necessary to carry out job assignments. Must be available some evenings and weekends to attend and staff events. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and Powerpoint required; Proficiency in Raisers Edge, Adobe Creative Suite, and Donor Drive preferred. Functional Accountabilities Development
