Position Location: Houston, TX


We're looking for an experienced and results-driven SAP Solutions Architect to lead the design, integration, and implementation of scalable SAP solutions across our enterprise. This role serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, with deep expertise in SAP ECC 6.0 (EHP 7)-particularly Sales & Distribution (SD)-and working knowledge of FI and MM. The ideal candidate brings strong business process understanding (especially within Wholesale Distribution), strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills to guide cross-functional initiatives and deliver secure, reliable, and sustainable SAP solutions.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities




  • Lead the functional and technical architecture, design, and roadmap for SAP ECC 6.0 EHP 7 solutions



  • Provide guidance on system integration, performance optimization, scalability, and security best practices



  • Collaborate with functional analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end SAP solutions



  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions



  • Draft, review, and approve functional specifications, ensuring quality and alignment with business needs



  • Oversee and support system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations, including S/4HANA and cloud integrations



  • Define and enforce governance, standards, and best practices for documentation, specs, and system operations



  • Mentor and train team members, supporting knowledge transfer and solution design



  • Deliver project estimates, resource planning, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment



  • Identify risks and issues, recommend actionable solutions, and drive decision-making




Requirements




  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field



  • SAP Certification and formal SAP training



  • 10+ years as an SAP Solutions Architect, with 5+ years in Wholesale Distribution



  • Hands-on experience with SD module; functional knowledge of FI/MM



  • Experience with SAP interfaces (EDI, ALE/IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, Web Services)



  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills



  • Excellent written and verbal communication, able to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders



  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and third-party vendors



  • Familiarity with SAP security, authorizations, and data architecture best practices



  • Proven ability to estimate work effort, manage timelines, and communicate scope, risks, and delays




Preferred




  • Experience in Oil & Gas industry



  • Workflow Builder experience and SAP Business Objects enhancements
