2026 Summer Intern - RDS Pathology Lab Software

Department Summary

RDS Pathology Lab Development leverages its core capabilities in Assay and Reagent Development, Systems and Hardware Development, and Software Development. The Software Development department implements diagnostic systems integrated with medical instrument solutions that perform automated tissue staining as part of clinical pathology diagnostic workflows. Software and DevOps engineers leverage Agile methodologies, industry standard tools, and automation to support the RDS product lines.

This internship position is located in Tucson, on-site.

The Opportunity

  • Configuring solution for CyberSecurity tool integration for code quality metrics (SonarQube, DefectDojo).

  • Assisting in integration of software source control tools, components, and deployment dependencies (Microsoft Azure DevOps, GitHub).

  • Troubleshooting application and build server issues.

  • Documenting software build processes and system automation.

  • Participation in summer intern symposium.

Program Highlights

  • Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

  • Program start dates are in May/June 2026.

  • A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.

  • Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

  • Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Who You Are

Required Education
You meet one of the following criteria:

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).

  • Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student).

Required Majors: Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related major.

Required Skills:

  • Software programming, software tools (IDEs), and networking.

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university during program.

  • Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  • Minimum availability of 12 weeks (Required start on or before program Welcome Reception and end date on or after Summer End Poser Symposium).

  • Previous experience in the job duties listed, either through course work or industry/academia.

  • Participation in student organizations and/or other leadership experience.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Complements our culture and the standards that guide our daily behavior & decisions: Integrity, Courage, and Passion.

    Experience with C#.NET and PowerShell.

  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Familiarity working with Public Cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

  • DevOps experience with Operating Systems and Networking with Windows and/or Linux.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Arizona is $45.00 - $50.00 per hour.Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
