Job Summary The Associate Vice President of Development will lead the fundraising and engagement programs for Drexel University's Health Sciences, which include the College of Medicine (DUCOM), College of Nursing and Health Professions (CNHP), the Dornsife School of Public Health (DSPH) and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO). In coordination with the Hospital, the Associate Vice President will also oversee the advancement efforts for St. Christopher's Hospital for Children (SCHC) which serves as Drexel's Department of Pediatrics. Essential Functions
- Provide vision and direction for the Health Sciences advancement efforts, including alumni engagement, annual giving, major gifts and planned giving.
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward a select portfolio of principal gifts prospects across the assigned colleges and schools, and those with interest in supporting the Health Sciences and the Hospital.
- Effectively manage a team of Health Sciences development staff, including direct supervision of unit leaders/Assistant VPs and administrative support staff.
- Establish, track and report on key performance indicators that measure the effectiveness and efficiency of fundraising activities and performance.
- Ensure that the major giving activities are maximized through an effective advancement team of fundraising professionals and partnerships across Units and functional areas.
- Partner with the Deans of the assigned colleges and schools to increase and support their development efforts and maximize fundraising potential.
- Define and execute bold funding initiatives that advance Drexel and SCHC's fundraising goals and promote a strong culture of philanthropy across the enterprise.
- Recognize the unique contribution the academic and research components and work closely with stakeholders to promote development strategies tailored to these programs, their histories, and their constituents.
- Represent the Health Sciences unit to a broad range of senior-level constituencies, including trustees, alumni, friends, corporate executives, foundations and board members.
- Support the Senior Vice President, Institutional Advancement in developing, aligning and executing the strategic priorities of the University.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
- Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated fundraising success, including securing with major and principal (7-figure) gifts.
- Experience leading/managing a team of professional staff.
- Experience in higher education development.
- Program and pipeline development experience.
- Collaborative style and ability to work within multiple leadership teams.
- Ability to integrate and lead a complex advancement program.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of database fundraising software.
- Ability and willingness to travel on a frequent basis.
- Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends.
- Valid Driver's License and ability to drive frequently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Health Sciences/Medical fundraising experience.
- Master's degree.
- Experience with CS Advance.
- Familiarity with the Greater Philadelphia area health systems.

Additional Information This position is classified as Exempt, grade Q. Compensation for this grade ranges from $162,030 - $243,040 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
