What to Expect
Tesla is looking for a talented Structural Designer to contribute to the design and construction of diverse projects, including new builds and renovations of industrial, manufacturing, office, and data center facilities at our cutting-edge campus in Austin, TX.

What You'll Do
  • Support the design and construction of diverse projects, including new builds and renovations of industrial, manufacturing, and office facilities at our advanced facilities across the United States
  • Develop structural modeling and design deliverables in Revit, including presenting 30%, 60%, and 90% model reviews to stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Create design drawings, plans, sections, details, and schedules, incorporating engineering inputs and markups for accuracy and alignment
  • Employ Revizto and 3D laser-scanned point clouds to facilitate routing and perform clash detection during project development
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams, including Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Piping/Plumbing, to coordinate structural modeling and assist in utility routing
  • Partner with the BIM support team to ensure consistent outcomes and integrate new designs into existing facility models
  • Leverage and enhance structural design standards, including the creation of custom BIM content and the development of specialized tools

What You'll Bring
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Structural Designer on building or industrial projects
  • At least 8 years of hands-on experience with Revit Structural software
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet project deadlines
  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse team environment
  • Capacity to multitask and adapt flexibly to rapidly changing project requirements and timelines
  • Commitment to maintaining standards and promptly escalating issues when necessary
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while effectively prioritizing and communicating assignments
