What to Expect

Tesla is seeking an Architectural Designer to join the Infrastructure Organization's Pre-Development team. This role is responsible for the design and delivery of manufacturing and workplace facilities and will support projects across multiple Tesla locations.


What You'll Do
  • Perform feasibility studies and techno-economic analyses on capital projects to support leadership decision-making and aggressive budget targets
  • Collaborate with internal design teams and partner closely with manufacturing, construction, and facilities stakeholders to define project requirements and deliver fully coordinated construction documents
  • Prepare drawings, perform calculations, and review construction and procurement documents and specifications for projects of varying size and complexity
  • Support projects including retrofits and modifications of existing facilities, new buildings, and building additions
  • Work with estimating teams to produce test fits and bills of quantities to support ROM-level cost estimates for project funding
  • Produce architectural deliverables for permit and construction packages, including plans, sections, details, schedules, and layouts
  • Interface with external consultants during bidding and execution to ensure designs and specifications meet project requirements

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years' work experience in large commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities
  • Registered as a certified Professional Architect (RA) is preferred
  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Strong skills in other architectural software such as Rhino, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Enscape / Twinmotion / Lumion, and Adobe Suite
  • Advanced knowledge of architectural design principles and applicable codes, design guides and standards related to the discipline
  • Ability to manage multiple fast-paced projects while maintaining high quality and productivity

    Expected Compensation
    $88,000 - $186,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
