Job Title: Tank Inspector Apprentice

Interstate Power Systems is looking for a Tank Inspector Apprentice at our Waterloo Iowa location. In this hands-on apprenticeship, you'll receive comprehensive training to become certified in inspecting and testing various types of tanks, including: refined fuels, LP tanks, and 407 Trailers.

Tank Inspector Duties:

• This is an Entry Level position, developing and learning a skilled trade while working with Factory Trained/Certified Technicians.
• Entry level troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on refined fuels, LP tanks and 407 trailers, among others.
• Will train and grow entry level techs into fully Certified and Registered Inspectors.
• Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify all heavy-duty components associated with Cargo Tanks.
• Positive interface with service writers, foreman, parts department, and customers
• Keep paperwork updated and handed in upon completion

Position Requirements for Mechanics/Inspectors:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A strong desire to learn and grow your technical skill set with tank inspection and heavy-duty trucks/trailers.
• Be able to work with diagnostic computers for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Must have your own set of general tools. Tool program is available for qualified applicants.
• Use computers for web-based training and work order system.
• Must be physically able to lift and work with no restrictions.
• CDL is preferred but not required.
• Welding/Fabrication experience is a plus.
