We have an exciting Regulatory Food Safety Manager opportunity in our Guymon Oklahoma processing plant. The Regulatory Food Safety Manager is responsible for oversight, supervision and carrying out the HACCP/Food Safety/SQF and Humane Handling departmental functions at the facility level.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Contribute to a high-performance team by maintaining and communicating a high level of expertise concerning emerging food safety issues through consistent monitoring and evaluation of food safety information impacting processes and finished products.



  • Proactively oversee, develop, implement, verify, and validate current food safety program for all aspects of the facility Food Safety/Regulatory Compliance programs such as Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), Sanitation Standard Operation Procedures (SSOP's), and Sanitation Performance Standards (SPS). Implements, modifies and maintains local HACCP programs and facilitates the HACCP programs in the facility.
  • Responsibility to oversee the development, implementation review and maintenance of the SQF system. Including but not limited to food safety fundamentals, food safety plan and ensure the integrity of the SQF system.
  • Responsible for the overall accountability of ensuring the food safety and humane handling systems at the plant is properly written, documented and implemented to ensure USDA regulatory and customer compliance and the production of high quality, safe and wholesome product.
  • Responsible for the development, direction and support of the corporate food safety initiatives for manufacturing and distribution.
  • Maintain an excellent understanding of new and current federal, state and local regulations that affect food safety requirements associated with manufacturing, processing and packing, distribution etc., (HACCP, SSOPs, GMP's).
  • Schedule, coordinate and/or perform GMP, Food Safety and regulatory audits and/or verifications related to the facilities HACCP/Food Safety programs. Assist with maximizing facility efficiencies by proactively addressing situations that could lead to downtime or product loss.
  • Responsible for providing support to the Director of FSQA on any number of special projects and activities related primarily to food safety and product quality.
  • Provide verification support in the areas of receiving, storage of ingredients, packaging and raw materials, pest control, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Humane Handling, and other general support, as needed.
  • Review and scrutinize of all aspects of the food safety system. This includes, but is not limited to reviewing the production process during operations and reviewing the food safety paper work. Ensure the USDA regulatory requirements are met. This is key, due to the USDA's interpretation of the rules is constantly changing. The revision and updating of the food safety and humane handling programs and procedures are needed to accommodate these changes.
  • Responsible for the development of processes, providing assistance to department managers and to effectively mitigate food safety impacts of emergency (unplanned) events such as ammonia leaks, adverse regulatory sample findings, or food safety litigation. Responsible for acting as Seaboard's advocate during interaction with regulatory agencies and customers. Responsible for providing oversight of contract vendors.
  • Orchestration of regulatory and customer audits. Preparing and handling audits conducted by outside auditing firms.
  • Troubleshooting of problematic operations and/or ongoing situations, which are unacceptable and implementing corrective actions. Preparing and handling plant USDA meeting. Additional training is needed for employees responsible for monitoring, verification and record reviewing critical control points, sanitation etc. Auditing and scrutinizing the level of equipment cleanliness prior to the start of operations. Includes, but not limited to meetings with the sanitation supervisor and solving sanitation problems.
  • Provide and assist for on-the-job and classroom training to support GMP and food safety programs coordinated with the Laboratory manager, QA and Operational managers. Responsible for the development and training of the HACCP management support personnel.

Required:




  • New computer systems.
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
  • Intermediate in Microsoft Office; Word and Excel and COGNOS, preferred.
  • 3 Years of supervisory experience




SCHEDULE



  • The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel as requested.
