Department's Website: The Technician monitors, operate, and maintains HVAC control systems, including Johnson Controls systems, and demonstrates competent, working knowledge of the Metasys Building Automation System (BAS) to support efficient system operation, energy management, and occupant comfort. All work is performed in accordance with departmental standards, University HVAC protocols, applicable safety practices, and regulatory codes. This position requires the ability to understand, maintain, and troubleshoot multiple HVAC systems and controls while ensuring work is completed in a high-quality, professional manner. The HVAC Technician also provides technical guidance and training to maintenance generalists, supporting proper HVAC maintenance procedures, safe work practices, and consistent operational standards across the team. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential function of the position, as is the ability to establish and maintain cooperative, and professional working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, and University Housing occupants.
