With our continued growth, we are searching for a Division Operations Manager (DOM) to support the Division and Sales management teams in the implementation of both tactical and long-term strategic plans around maximizing growth, profitability and service delivery. The DOM will have direct oversight of the Aurora and West Chicago warehouses and the transportation services. The incumbent will make measurable impacts to the Division through improving overall profitability, in addition to managing and developing their team. This is a highly visible role that will serve as a key business partner to Sales and Customer Support, ensuring that our operational capacity aligns with our commercial promises.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Management and oversight of warehouse operations to ensure high service standards
  • Ensures that the team maintains consistent compliance with corporate policies and procedures
  • Develop long-term labor strategies to manage seasonal peaks, including recruitment, engagement and retention initiatives
  • Responsible for fostering a culture of health and safety, accountability, and professional growth across the division as well as safety scorecard and KPI management
  • Responsible for managing all facility vendors
  • Communicates timely and effectively on all appropriate aspects of business management with designated Division Manager, Sales Management, and teams within designated areas


Operational Excellence:
  • Works closely with corporate leadership in monitoring Division support roles in connection with Supply Chain, Warehouse Logistics, and Purchasing
  • Identifies areas to improve profitability for large customers and new business opportunities through the implementation and application of a cost to serve model to ensure that the Company maximizes each customer's return on sales
  • Understands operating procedures and makes recommendations to improve Division efficiency and performance
  • Monitors and manages all facility, division, and corporate scorecards as they apply
  • Monitors and Manages facility capacity, space utilization and develops short, med, and long-term space requirements for the division
  • Coordinates across all other departments for Division Operations impacts and best practices
  • Works closely with sales management to coordinate new or changing business requirements to identify best location (Shorr vs 3PL), service model and operational requirements
  • Institutes and manages standard KPIs to ensure a continuous improvement environment exists across all departments and performs strategic analyses and benchmarking on key metrics including revenue, costs, margins, and customer profitability


Financial Management:
  • Focuses close attention on new business plans, financial reports and existing business profitability, advising the Division Manager of improvements needed, providing options to enhance customer profitability as well as overall profitability of the Division
  • Assists the Division Manager in the preparation of the annual operating budget for the division
  • Monitors division operational actual results versus budget, implements cost savings initiatives where applicable, and make recommendations to Division Management to eliminate excess spending
  • Monitors monthly results and provides root cause analysis of any impactful cost drivers
  • Monitors and manages Inventory levels, turns, and slow moving inventory to minimize financial burden to the division and ESOP
  • Works closely with Sales team to develop core processes, tools, and metrics to facilitate sound product pricing decisions and recommend pricing changes to increase the profitability of key and new customers
  • Manages freight spend: Focused on minimizing freight cost as % of revenue. Identifies and Implements freight efficiency and optimization
  • Participate and Support all Division RFPs/RFQs for service providers, vendors, equipment and facility

The targeted compensation for this position is between$140K - $170Kbase plus targeted bonus, depending on skills and experience of the selected candidate.

The ideal candidate must possess the following:
  • BS/BA degree in business, finance, operations, accounting or related field
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in warehouse operations or logistics, with at least 3 years in a multi-site or regional leadership role.
  • Must have experience with business/financial management/accounting
  • Warehouse management and/or general operations experience within a medium to large facility preferred
  • Co-pack management experience preferred
  • Demonstrated success as a leader and has built high performing operations teams
  • Experience working within a pricing or profitability role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • ERP systems (Preferably Infor SX.e), and WMS experience preferred (Solochain preferred)
