Primary Job Responsibilities:

Safety

  • Maintain a safe work environment for employees and customers by setting safety as a priority

  • Ensure gas pumps, lot and store areasare clean and free of debris at all times

  • Work with SafetyTeam and conduct monthly mandatory meetings andtrainings

  • Report safety incidents in a timely manner and comply with safetypolicy,programs and processes

  • Conduct timely and in-depth incident investigations to uncover root causes, and accurately prepare and submit required reports and paperwork within requiredtime frame

Leadership and Personnel Management

  • Train, develop, guide and evaluate employees to operate the storeeffectively and safely to provide superior customer service

  • Maintain a professional and supportive image among subordinates and supervisors

  • Work with recruiting team to actively recruit, interview and select qualified applicants utilizing non-discriminatory management skills

  • Prepare and submit all employee paperwork accurately and timely i.e. (performance appraisals, performance notices, new hire checklist, employee change forms, etc.)

  • Ensure that all employees receive continuouson-the-joband companyrequired trainingto improve customer service performance and safety awareness

  • Motivate and provide employee recognition to improve individual, team,and storeperformance

  • Address employee performance and violation issues. Implement a progressive disciplinary approach when dealing with employee performance issues, prepare and submit the proper documentationwithinrequiredtime frame

  • Set and communicate performance expectations, and evaluate actual performance based on those expectations. Prepare on-going performance appraisals in writing for all employees, providing properperformance-basedfeedback

  • Develop potential employees through coaching and training so they are ready for promotion to the next level, creating a robust Succession Plan

  • Carry out all company policies

Customer Service and Site Relationships

  • Consistently provide prompt and courteous customer service, may be required to assist customers at the gas pump, and assist in resolving customer issues

  • Accurately ring up all sales on POS system,comply with all cash handling procedures and otherpayment typesfor products sold

  • Develop positive and professional relationships with all customers, vendors and contractors

  • Is responsible for all cash,moniesand inventory during shift

  • As a top priority, develop and assign tasks appropriately to ensure that the site is clean, adequately stocked and organized for fast, convenient and professional service to customers

  • Ensure a clean, friendly and well-maintained storeenvironment to provide customers witha buyingexperience that meets theirexpectation

  • Monitor customer needs and expectations, and work with storeemployees to ensure those needs are metby promoting programs and ensuring suggestive selling

  • Assist customers at the pump and in the store to find the desired product and operate equipment

  • Actively solicit customer feedback via consistent personal interactionand engagement

  • Ensure complaints are resolved quickly and sincerely to the customer's, vendor's and contractor's satisfaction.

  • Promote and ensure a safe, positive public image within the community

  • Promote,growand maintainprocessofLoyaltyRewards program

Business and Financial Management

  • Plan and manage storeactivities to maximize operating profit

  • Monitor fuel sales volume and competitor pricing to assist the pricing analyst in development of storespecific fuel pricing strategies and tactics

  • Monitormerchandiseandfoodmovement, includingcompetitor offerings to assist in development of storespecific product mix and pricing strategies

  • Maintain store layout and product displays per schematics

  • Execute storelevel sales promotions and assist in implementing network-wide promotional and advertising campaigns

  • Manage fuel,merchandise and foodinventory to ensure optimum stocking levels

  • Staff and schedule labor to meet customer demand while staying within budget

  • Control operating expenses, including maintenance, utilities, supplies and inventory loss

  • Prepare and submit daily sales reports accurately and timely,including,invoices, bank deposits, and environmental compliance reports

  • Safeguard and account for all money received and disbursed

  • Organize and maintain all site files, manuals, and other information materials

  • Receive merchandise using proper check-in procedures when working with vendors

  • Obtain and maintain all required food and age restricted product certifications within 2 weeks of employment

Facilities Management

  • Work with Retail Facility team to maintain appearance standards of paving, lighting, canopy and other physical structures

  • Report and follow up on facility issues as needed

  • Ensure facilities and equipment are in safe working order

  • Maintain dispensing and store equipment to ensure clean, sanitary, and safe working conditions at all times

  • Ensure required signage/decals are posted

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift

  • Ability to see with 20/40 vision (corrective lenses acceptable)in order tosee numbers on store inventory levels, items purchased, gas pumps in operation, and problems that mayoccur with gas pumps

  • Abilityto communicate information and ideas so others will understand.Mustbe able to exchange accurate information in these situations

  • Ability to follow safety procedures (eg.respond to safety alarms, contact 911 for emergencies)

  • Frequent reaching overhead, gripping, wrist movement, and finger dexterity required to restock inventory, package items sold, operate POS system, receive payments, issue change, operate gas pumps, wipe pumps, maintain storegrounds, and general housekeeping

  • Frequent squatting and kneeling required for obtaining and/or replenishing items

  • Ability to push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds (i.e. utilizing a hand-truck)

  • Frequent lifting of 20 pounds or less from floor to waist, overhead and carry a short distance

  • Sometimes required to liftin excess ofstated conditions up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to climb astepladder to stockor retrieve materials and/or place or remove signs

Note: There may be exposure to gas fumes and solvents, and occasional noise.

Qualifications:

Tomeet thebasic qualificationsfor this role you will beat least21years of age or olderandhave legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

Additional qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or GEDrequired; Associate or Bachelor'sDegree in business, management, marketing, or related field preferred

  • Valid driver's license, and adequate transportation required

  • Minimum 1 year of store manager or assistant store manager experience required

  • Minimum 2 years convenience store or other retail experience preferred

  • Proficientwith general computer applications, such as a POS system, and Microsoft Office
