Duties and Responsibilities
The new student undergraduate research hire will work in Dr. van Oosten-Hawle's lab under the current NIH R01 grant. The student researcher is expected to maintain the lab's C. elegans frozen database, maintain C. elegans growth, restock C. elegans growth media ( NGM agar plates, buffers) and perform autoclaving tasks on a weekly basis. In addition the student researcher will learn research skills related to a project on gut-induced stress signaling using C. elegans. The undergraduate researcher will be expected to complete research objectives through the spring semester related to the focal goals of the funded project and participate in weekly lab meetings, as well as 1:1 meetings.
