Description

Capgemini Government Solutions (CGS) LLC is seeking an experienced Azure Solution Architect to lead presales technical strategy for U.S. Defense and National Security customers. This role serves as the technical authority throughout the presales lifecycle, designing secure, compliant cloud solutions in Azure Government (GCC High) aligned to DoD IL4+ requirements. Success requires deep knowledge of defense mission needs, federal compliance frameworks, and secure cloud architectures, with the ability to engage confidently across technical, acquisition, and executive stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities:

As an Azure Solution Architect, you will:



  • Lead technical architecture for presales engagements across the U.S. Defense sector.


  • Conduct discovery sessions to assess mission needs, security constraints, data classification, and compliance requirements.
  • Architect secure, scalable Azure Government (GCC High) solutions meeting DoD IL4-IL6 standards.
  • Design endtoend architectures including secure landing zones, ICAM, network segmentation, crossdomain considerations, and Zero Trust.
  • Translate mission objectives into compliant architectures and clear value propositions.
  • Support capture efforts, proposals, RFP/RFI responses, and technical volumes.
  • Deliver technical briefings, architecture reviews, and whiteboard sessions to government and integrator audiences.
  • Partner with sales, capture, compliance, and delivery teams to shape deal strategy and ensure smooth handoff to implementation.
  • Advise on accreditation strategy, including ATO planning and inheritance.
  • Stay current on Azure Government capabilities, federal cloud policy, and defense modernization initiatives.


Required Qualifications:



  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance (Secret or Top Secret).
  • Computer Science, or Engineering degree, in lieu of a degree, 7 or more years of relevant experience may suffice.
  • 8+ years in enterprise IT, cloud architecture, or systems engineering.
  • Direct experience supporting DoD customers or defense primes.
  • Handson experience architecting solutions in Azure Government GCC High.
  • Proven expertise designing and supporting DoD IL4+ environments.
  • Strong understanding of FedRAMP High, DoD SRG, NIST 80053/800171, RMF/ATO, DISA STIGs, CMMC, and CUI.
  • Deep technical knowledge of Azure Government services:


    • Entra ID for Government
    • Networking (ExpressRoute, VPN, NSGs, firewalls)
    • Compute, storage, and PaaS services approved for IL4+
    • Security tools (Defender for Cloud, Sentinel - Gov)


  • Strong communication skills across engineering, security, program management, and executive audiences.


Desired Qualifications:



  • An active DoD Security Clearance (Secret or Top Secret).


  • Azure architecture or security certifications.
  • Experience supporting combatant commands, defense agencies, or major defense programs.
  • Familiarity with hybrid, tactical, or edge architectures.
  • Experience with defense acquisition and capture processes.
  • Knowledge of DoD Zero Trust and ICAM strategies.

At Capgemini, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. The base salary range for the tagged location is $155k- $185k.

This role may be eligible for other compensation including variable compensation, bonus, or commission. Full time regular employees are eligible for paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and any other benefits to eligible employees.
