Weekend Day Shift: Friday - Sunday 6AM - 6:30PM + 17% Shift Pay Hourly/Non Exempt RIVERSIDE, located in Eau Claire, WI is a precision machining company, and our company mission is to provide custom precision manufacturing and innovative services to medical, aviation, space, defense, and emerging high-tech industries. The purpose of the MACHINING INTERN role is to allow students the opportunity to gain manufacturing experience as well as give the company some machine unload and special project work support.
This position may participate in one or more of the following duties as directed by supervision or management. Machining Interns will be asked to run a variety of different machines. These machines include Verticals, Horizontals, Swiss, and Turning. Understand run out, tool length stick outs, and proper holder based on what the tool is doing. Inspect parts using tools that include, but are not limited to micrometers, calipers, and height stands. Straighten plates and parts as needed with Arbor press or other methods. Perform simple setups and troubleshooting (only if supervised by full-time machinist mentor). Perform periodic quality checks as described in operation layouts. Reads and understands blueprint, job routings, tooling instructions, and standard charts for such specifications as dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions such as type of holding fixtures, cutting speeds, feed rates, and cutting tools to be used. Keep work area clean and organized. Intern will be responsible for the quality of the parts that he or she produces. Other duties as assigned. Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct.
Students must be enrolled in the Machine Tool Technology, Manufacturing or Industrial program. Shift is flexible and can be changed to accommodate current courses/schedule.
Understanding of machining equipment. Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills. Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
