POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager, Houston Operations provides overall site leadership and manages daily operations. The Manager oversees the operations of the Houston medical equipment facility, providing support to the refurbishment team and managing parts fulfillment, parts repair, and parts testing to ensure products meet quality and regulatory standards. This role leads warehouse specialists and support personnel, coordinates workflows from material intake to delivery, and drives operational efficiency, compliance, inventory accuracy, and cost control across all refurbishment and parts operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential functions satisfactorily:
- Provide overall site leadership for the Houston operations facility, supporting the refurbishment team while ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant day-to-day operations.
- Lead and manage teams responsible for parts sourcing, parts testing, parts repair, and parts fulfillment, as well as supporting equipment refurbishment, installation, relocation, and project execution activities.
- Oversee all parts operations, ensuring timely and accurate ordering, proper inventory levels, and alignment with operational and refurbishment requirements.
- Support refurbishment execution by coordinating workflows, resources, and schedules from intake through final delivery, while maintaining operational readiness across parts and testing functions.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and performance management for both salaried and hourly staff, including performance evaluations and professional development aligned with company goals.
- Review and approve timecards, paid time off (PTO) requests, and expense reports in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Oversee receiving, disassembly, identification, labeling, and stocking of incoming parts, ensuring a controlled and traceable flow from receipt to inventory to fulfillment.
- Maintain accurate equipment and parts records within company systems, monitoring inventory status and communicating availability updates to sales and service teams to support accurate transactions.
- Coordinate the pulling, staging, and tracking of parts requested by service, parts, engineering, and refurbishment teams to meet operational needs.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, reconciliation, and corrective actions as required.
- Oversee shipping and receiving activities, including crating, labeling, carrier coordination, and verification of safe and compliant delivery of equipment and parts.
- Collaborate closely with Service Operations, Quality, and Engineering to ensure timely and accurate completion of equipment-related projects and customer commitments.
- Own and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost, on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and quality.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality across site operations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and quality standards, including support of ISO 13485 audits and internal inspections as required.
- Maintain and enforce health and safety standards for warehouse and technical staff, including required training, incident reporting, and corrective actions.
- Oversee facility cleanliness, maintenance, and overall site condition to maintain a professional, safe, and inspection-ready environment.
- Manage company fleet operations at the Houston site, ensuring vehicles are properly maintained, compliant, and available to support operational needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Engineering, Technology, or Supply Chain or relevant military training.
- Minimum of 10 experience in manufacturing-related operations.
- Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing/plant operations leadership role.
- Experience with implementing Lean culture in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with database management and inventory tracking systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Six Sigma Certification
- Experience with medical imaging equipment and CRM software.
Working Conditions:
- Approximately 30% standing, 30% sitting, and 40% walking.
- Primarily performed in a warehouse setting with occasional travel as required.
- Extensive computer work is involved.
