Position Summary:
Provide effective leadership as a Scrum master for multiple development scrum teams using SAFe Agile processes while providing guidance/oversight for release planning, including collaboration and communication with the operation's team to keep current on deployment readiness. Work with Scrum teams to ensure that the principles of the Scrum methodology are protected including scrum ceremonies.
This position is designated as work-from-home. However, we do require the Scrum Masters to travel for 1 week per quarter (4 times a year) for our quarterly planning events. These are 3-day events, and the Scrum Master is a key position that we prefer to have in person leading the team's planning sessions. WFH hours need to align with CST or MTZ business hours.
Responsibilities:
  • Customer service oriented.

  • Outstanding time management skills to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to understand complex issues, use independent judgment to identify problems and facilitate/recommend resolution.
  • Prepare reports and present to all levels of management.
  • Conduct appropriate scrum ceremonies (daily stand-up meetings, retrospectives, sprint planning sessions, etc.)
  • Provide guidance to scrum teams on internal and external communication, how to improve transparency, and how to be self-organized and self-managed.
  • Sufficient level of technical background to provide leadership to development teams to find creative solutions for difficult issues.
  • Successful mentor to team members on Agile methodologies and ability to provide performance feedback.
  • Effectively communicate changes within the organization and relevant project information to scrum team members and stakeholders and coordinate and communicate milestones and deliverables.
  • Identify requirements from a variety of stakeholders and facilitate PI planning meetings with stakeholders and scrum teams to groom backlog, refine features, and estimate stories.
  • Shield scrum teams from outside distractions, impediments, and maintain focus on completing the committed product backlog items.
  • Ability to triage scrum team issues based on priority, impact, risk, and release timing.
  • Ability to develop and foster teamwork and facilitate team dynamics.
  • Able to gauge team performance, identify areas for growth, promote continuous improvement/productivity and foster innovation.
  • Maintain product knowledge to increase efficiency in delivery of all product deliverables.
Qualifications:
  • Certified Scrum Master Professional (CSP) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification.
  • 3+ years with SCRUM Master experience leading agile scrum teams at a fast-paced environment preferred
  • 5+ years of experience and management in software development life cycle (SDLC) preferred
  • 5+ years of IT work experience as an application developer, business analyst, or project manager preferred
  • Experience with agile management and tracking tools. For example, Jira, Confluence.
  • In-depth field experience in adopting SAFe and agile practices in the enterprise environments.
  • Ability to understand complex issues and facilitate resolution.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or PMP ACP
  • Sufficient level of technical background to provide leadership to development teams to find creative solutions for difficult issues.
  • Working experience with Atlassian collaboration tools (eazyBI reports).
Required Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering degree; or an Engineering degree from an accredited* institution. Required Certification:
  • In accordance with DOD Cyber Workforce Qualifications Matrices Management, Security+ is required for candidates that do not possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering degree; or a degree in Engineering from an accredited* institution. The U.S. Department of Education Database of Accredited Postsecondary Institutions and Programs located at https://amspub.abet.org/aps/name-search?searchType=institution identifies accredited postsecondary institutions and programs that are within the U.S. and its territories. Certification must be obtained within six (6) months of hire. Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire

  • Ability to attain Federal Government Position of Trust.

Compensation for roles at Synergy varies depending on a wide variety of factors including but not limited to the requirements of the role; education and certifications; knowledge, training, skills and abilities; level of experience; geographic location; and alignment with market data, law, and other business and organizational needs. As required by local law, the posted pay range represents the lowest to the highest pay that Synergy believes in good faith it might pay for this particular job, depending on the circumstances. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable estimate of the current pay range is: $59,000.00 - $98,000.00

Essential Job Function Physical Requirements: The physical requirements of this position are critical in evaluating the qualifications and abilities of an applicant or employee. The physical efforts needed to perform the essential duties of this job 90% of the time are repetitive motions, grasping, holding, and finger dexterity of the hands, reading, writing, eye-hand coordination, color distinction, and full visual abilities, hearing, talking, sitting, and use of IT equipment, phones, and office machines.
