Location(s): Draper, UT.

Job Summary

  • Product Owner II is responsible for driving the delivery of one or more products, capabilities, services, or enhancements aligned to the product roadmap. This role partners closely with Product Management, Business Leaders, and a cross-functional Scrum team to translate strategic vision into executable outcomes.
  • Product Owner II owns backlog management, release sequencing, and just-in-time story elaboration, ensuring delivery aligns with business objectives, KPIs, and SAFe Agile practices. The role also serves as a key liaison across engineering, sales, and client-facing teams to ensure product value is clearly articulated and realized.

Key Responsibilities:
Product Planning & Strategy:
  • Support Release Train and Scrum team(s) through PI planning, backlog prioritization, and defect management.
  • Partner with Product Managers to understand and influence product strategy, roadmaps, and KPIs.
  • Aggregate, evaluate, and propose ideas to enhance product performance and achieve business outcomes.
  • Ensure product execution aligns with strategic objectives and documented requirements.
Backlog & Delivery Execution:
  • Own and maintain the product backlog, ensuring appropriate prioritization and sequencing.
  • Refine features into clear, actionable user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
  • Perform just-in-time story elaboration with development teams.
  • Facilitate solution optioning and design discussions with Engineering.
  • Coordinate with other Product Owners and Agile Product Managers to deliver cross-team or cross-release train initiatives.
Development Collaboration:
  • Partner with a dedicated Scrum team to build, enhance, and manage assigned products or services.
  • Support full product lifecycle delivery, from ideation through implementation and release.
  • Contribute to integration and migration efforts across systems and platforms.
Sales & Client Engagement:
  • Collaborate with Sales, Sales Operations, Client Solutions, and Client Marketing teams.
  • Communicate product performance, value propositions, and in-market outcomes.
  • Representing customer needs and feedback to influence ongoing product enhancements.

  1. Backlog & PI Planning Expertise - Proven ability to manage product backlogs, prioritize defects, and support PI planning aligned to release train goals.
  2. Strong Product Management Partnership - Demonstrated collaboration with Product Managers on strategy, roadmaps, and KPIs.
  3. User Story & Acceptance Criteria Development - Ability to translate features into high-quality user stories with clear acceptance criteria.

  • Project Administration & Management: Estimation, dependency tracking, risk identification, documentation, and reporting using project management tools.
  • Requirements Analysis: Elicitation, documentation, and validation of business requirements; conflict and expectation management.
  • System & Technology Integration: Working knowledge of system interfaces, integrations, and migration planning across platforms.
  • Technology Savvy: Ability to leverage technology to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Target of 5 years of relevant experience (minimum 2 years required).
  • Working knowledge of SAFe Agile Methodology.
  • Experience across the full product lifecycle.
  • Proven ability to create, prioritize, and recommend epics and features.
  • Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional Agile environments.
  • Strong writing and documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate data into measurable actions and deliverables.
