Position Overview:

Consulting Services Group (CSG) is seeking a dedicated, highly skilled systems engineer to work in dynamic environment and provide leadership to Teammates. This is a hands-on position that requires a self-motivated and organized individual to communicate and manage medium and larger projects across multiple platforms and differing environments. Ideal candidates are well-versed in systems and network architectures, authentication protocols and possess a security-first mindset when architecting and deploying platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Develop solutions to technical issues, creating detailed instruction for others.
• Engineers and configures platforms for deployment. Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues on deployed platforms.
• Engineer, deploy and manage Azure, AWS and GCP infrastructure as required.
• Architect and manage Microsoft Entra, Active Directory and other deployed identity providers.
• Possess strong skills in Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Proficiency with scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, Python,. Ansible, Terraform, Service Now, etc..
• Perform threat detection and remediation; maintenance, and patching on a routine basis to ensure optimal system performance, security and compliance.
• Experience with DevOps practices, such as continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) and infrastructure as code (IAC).
• Proficiency with on-premise hypervisors to include VMware and other market leading alternatives.
• Provides technical support to program employees for complex system issues or problems as well as mentor and cultivate fellow staff members.
• Advises leadership on hardware, software and technology trends.
• Ability to draft requirements documents, correspondence, and procedures in accordance with policies.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• Minimum 7 years of Systems Engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Microsoft Entra ID / Active Directory
  • Azure and/or AWS (GCP a plus)
  • VMware vSphere / ESXi
  • Scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator/Engineer, Google Cloud, or CompTIA Security.

Work Environment:

• This is a full-time, on-site position in Herndon, VA.
• Relocation assistance is not available for this role.
• Minimal local travel in the DC metro area required. Some travel to data centers is required.
• Standard schedule: Monday-Friday, normal duty hours.
• Some weekend/holiday or travel may be required depending on mission needs.
• Physical requirements: must be able to lift 25lbs.
