The Cloud Solutions Team Lead will develop solutions for internal corporate platforms supporting Availity's computing infrastructure and applications. This position will be responsible for designing, engineering, and support of modern desktop technologies while incorporating cloud, DevOps and agile approaches. This candidate would be a highly skilled Azure Engineer with strong AWS experience to design and implement multi-cloud architectures and enable seamless integration between Azure and AWS environments.

Role qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent work experience and 10+ years experience in IT Infrastructure, application management and End User Support.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of cloud-based systems (M365 and AWS), security requirements, infrastructure, systems administration, application systems, networking and computing devices. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Outlook).
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services and multi-cloud integration.
  • Deep knowledge of networking, identity and security in cloud contexts.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation scripting (i.e.: PowerShell).
  • Strong documentation and governance mindset.
  • Proven ability working on and managing multiple priorities and projects (medium to large projects) and rolling out IT systems and services across various technology platforms. Under minimal supervision, thrives in a fast-paced environment with exceptional planning, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong business orientation with demonstrated ability in analyzing statistics or other data to bring IT solutions to resolve business issues while also managing costs and risks.
  • Expertise in the ability to produce detailed reports on key metrics and KPI.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service, interpersonal and leadership skills in communication, both written and verbal at all levels of an organization. Established record as an effective collaborator; experience presenting and working with executive leaders.
  • Skilled in managing team dynamics and mentoring/coaching others. Ability to lead and persuade others in a fast-moving environment with frequently changing priorities and assignments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect - Professional.
  • Experience with Kubernetes (AKS/EKS) and container orchestration.
  • Knowledge of multi-cloud networking and service mesh architectures.
  • Experience managing in an Agile environment utilizing Jira for work organization and completion.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop and maintain multi-cloud architecture integrating Azure and AWS, provides engineering support for the following: Modern desktop (Windows/Mac operating systems, virtual desktops and DaaS), Entra ID, Microsoft 365 platform, Email and collaboration services, SaaS and application support, Group Policy and Conditional Access Policies, and automation and scripting.
  • Lead modernization strategies: design Azure governance (policies, blueprints, RBAC, cost management), optimize AWS Workspace resources for cost, performance and compliance, and implement identity federation and SSO across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Deploy monitoring solutions using Azure monitor, AWS CloudWatch and integrate with SIEM tools. Optimize workloads for high availability and disaster recovery across clouds.
  • Proactively brings future technology trends into planning and decision making to support business objectives. Continue to evolve for scalability, new technologies, and automation. Build business cases for recommendations, sell why we would choose one solution over the other, cost analysis, document the solution design, and work with the engineers to ensure they are building/implementing based on the vision/strategy you are helping to drive.
  • Project delivery - Ensures that project plans are developed for initiatives, updates are communicated, and milestones are met. Ensure delivery of expected business benefits on time and within budget.
  • Teamwork - Serve as a senior resource and mentor in assigned daily support/operations and deployments and ensure solutions meet business requirements, scalability, and established metrics (SLAs). Consults and advises leadership, project teams, support teams and end users on how to optimize corporate systems and platforms.
  • Partner with Networking, Security, Applications and Support teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Build and sustain vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and manage software licensing as assigned.
  • Responsible and accountable for proactive communication and notifications regarding issues and meeting internal customer needs. Build partnerships with key departments and leaders. Communicates plans, project process/status and critical issues to management and team.
  • Observability and Metrics -build and maintain dashboard metrics on environment health and productivity for both IT and business consumption.
  • Participate in On-Call rotation and assist in incident troubleshooting for prompt mitigation of issues.
  • This role is primarily remote; however, occasional travel to our Jacksonville, FL office may be required to support team collaboration or business needs.
