What to Expect

Tesla's Gulf Coast Lithium Refinery is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Production Planner to support refinery operations. In this role, you be responsible for developing, coordinating, and optimizing production plans to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective refinery operations. This role aligns production schedules with demand forecasts, inventory targets, maintenance activities, and regulatory requirements while maximizing plant utilization and minimizing disruptions. You will partner closely with our production, logistics, and cost and optimization teams.This is a rare opportunity to play a critical role in scaling a novel chemical manufacturing process that supports Tesla's mission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.


What You'll Do
  • Develop short-, medium-, and long-term production plans for the refinery in line with demand forecasts and business objectives
  • Coordinate production schedules with operations, maintenance, supply chain, and logistics teams
  • Monitor production performance and adjust plans to address equipment constraints, feedstock availability, or process upsets
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to integrate planned shutdowns, turnarounds, and unplanned outages into production plans
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in all planning activities
  • Prepare and present production reports, KPIs, and forecasts to management

What You'll Bring
  • 3+ years in a refinery or petrochemical production operations preferred
  • Experience with operational data trending tools (e.g., PI Vision, Aspen, Seeq)
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel building pivot tables and basic analysis
  • Strong understanding of refinery processes, unit operations, and production workflows inclusive of process flow diagrams (PFDs), basic P&IDs and mass balance
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills, ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and adaptability to learn new technologies and work extended hours as needed
  • Command of the English language, both written and verbal
