Position Summary

The Security Officer II is an intermediate level position that will ensure the safety of Range Employees through monitoring of and controlling access to the property. This position will also serve as a Receptionist for answering phone calls and scheduling meeting rooms.




Responsibilities


  • Monitor and control access to Range's designated spaces by administering the entry/visitor log, providing security escorts as needed, administering a database of current contractors auditors, utilizing camera monitors for surveillance, documenting any unauthorized entry, screening for alcohol or drug use and denying entry and filing an incident report for all suspected weapons possessions. Escalate questions or concerns to the Security Manager for approval.
  • Maintain a high visibility presence and perform building patrols in order to build relationships with employees and deter trespassing of unauthorized personnel.
  • Assist in coordinating the annual Emergency Response training and general security training, including the training of security contractors.
  • Be aware of emergency exit policies and participate in these activities as defined within the policies.
  • Issue security badge credential to Range employees, contractors and auditors.
  • Serve as a liaison with various departments and entities, such as the building facilities department.
  • Assign and oversee use of "pool vehicles" for employees and visitors from other Range offices.
  • Execute administrative functions for the access control systems, including quarterly audits.
  • Coordinate and schedule contract security guards to ensure professional and consistent security response at multiple locations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Minimum Education - High School Diploma




Minimum Experience - 6+ years law enforcement, fire service, emergency medical or emergency management or 7+ years armed security




Professional Certifications/Training Required: PA Act 235 certification (if in PA); Texas state PPO Commission or Louisiana Armed Security license; or retired law enforcement credentials or HB 215 federal retired credentials


Professional Certifications/Training Preferred: First Aid/CPR instructor, NIMS and ICS certifications, Emergency Management Certification

Working Conditions: Working conditions vary based on the location of the work performed. Work performed in an office is typically in a climate controlled indoor setting. Work performed in the field may require the employee to be subjected to seasonal field conditions ranging from normal to extreme temperature and weather conditions and employees must be able to work in remote, isolated areas.
