Rosendin's Summer Internship Program is a hands-on training program designed to give you a well-rounded experience. You will work alongside passionate mentors solving real-world construction industry challenges in Construction Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Estimating,

Safety and Corporate roles.

Our Summer Internship program is a 10-to-12-week paid opportunity.

Your internship, at Rosendin, can be the perfect opportunity to expand your knowledge outside of the classroom and apply the concepts and theories of your major field of study. The hands-on real-world experiences that you encounter during our internship program enable you to develop your potential and make key contacts for future networking. Use your internship to determine your interest level in certain career fields, get feedback from professionals regarding your strengths and weaknesses, and to further your education and expand your resume.

In mid-June, we invite all our Interns across the country, to spend a week at Rosendin's Internship Week. Subject matter includes Construction Project Management, Estimating, Engineering, Safety, and more. We will visit live job sites and have team building events to make this a very valuable part of your overall internship experience.

    PROJECT ASSISTANT

    YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:

    The Project Assistant is responsible for providing project management support to the Project team. This position may include general administrative support.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO:

    • Recap and track Potential Change Orders (PCO's).

    • Ability to price up material vouchers.

    • Write up and keep track of all Request for Information (RFI's).

    • Track certified payroll for Rosendin and all subcontractors and fill out all necessary forms the job requires. e.g., HRC forms, OCIP Compliance.

    • Ability to update project schedules on Microsoft Projects or Sure Track.

    • Monthly billing (Schedule of Values/Cover sheet)

    • Create and update material flow sheets. e.g., Fixtures and Fire Alarm devices; Subcontract/Change Order logs; Submittal logs.

    • Ability to obtain quotes from vendors and some light material ordering.

    • The duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing and other duties will be assigned based on the position's role within the business unit.

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

    • Knowledge and ability to read blueprints; materials and pricing using Biddle Book; project management procedures and working knowledge of scheduling software

    • Computer, filing, and 10-key skills required

    • Attention to detail is necessary; strong analytical skills favored

    • Strong organizational, record-keeping and follow-up skills

    • High level of discretion and interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential matters and documentation

    • Proficient in using Microsoft Projects; Suretrack; Oracle and SharePoint experience preferred

    • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred

    • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary

    • Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude

    • Oral and written communication skills as required for the position

    • Self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player

    • Interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others

    WHAT YOU BRING TO US:
    • Associate degree in Business Management, Construction Management, or related field

    • Bachelor's degree preferred

    • Minimum 1-2 years' project management support experience, preferably in a construction environment

    • Experience in the construction industry

    ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER OUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:

    The Assistant Project Manager is an entry-level project management position and is expected to learn and develop competency in the Essential Duties and Responsibilities. In addition, the APM is responsible for providing administrative and construction support for our Project Management team.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO:
    • Manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, (Return for Information), and meeting minutes.

    • Oversee project activities as assigned by the Project Manager, including planning, coordinating, circumventing/resolving problem areas, ensuring all company/project policies, procedures, and standards are maintained, etc.

    • Maintain change orders, submittal, and document (drawing) control logs. Prepare required logs and other project documentation for construction meetings.

    • Responsible for contract submittals that are accurate and timely.

    • Responsible for creating and issuing the Subcontractors' contracts.

    • Responsible for the assembly and timely delivery of the Owner and Maintenance Manuals.

    • Ensure that the project quality control plan is followed.

    • Interacts with subcontractors to ensure we have obtained the correct documentation and drawing for the Owner and Maintenance Manuals.

    • Responsible for keeping the Warranty Log up to date.

    • Attend company/project meetings with clients, subcontractors, etc., and provide project management support

    • Cooperate with and technically assist field personnel assigned to the area of responsibility.

    • Monitor other contractors' activities and progress.

    • Responsible for creating the Job Information Sheets and establishing Job Files.

    • Prepares price change orders and project reports and documentation.

    • Works with payroll to ensure accurate payroll information.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:
    • General work environment - This position is performed primarily on active construction sites. Activity includes sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions, such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.

    • Noise level is typically low to medium.

    • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
