Overview

The Business and Industry Copilot (BIC) organization is at the forefront of transforming how Microsoft empowers customers across industries through AI-driven solutions. Within BIC, the Community Experiences Team (CXT) is responsible for building and scaling the next-generation community that connects customers, partners, and advocates across Microsoft's business applications ecosystem, including Power Platform, Dynamics 365, and Copilot Studio.

We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead the strategy, development, and evolution of the BIC Community Platform: a modern, data-driven, an AI-powered experience that enables users to learn, collaborate, and grow through community. This platform serves as a central hub for peer-to-peer support, content discovery, and community-led innovation, primarily via our community sites at https://community.powerplatform.com and https://community.dynamics365.com.

This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role ideal for a product leader who combines strategic vision with deep technical fluency and a hands-on approach to execution.

This position is based at the Redmond campus with 3 days per week work in the office and 2 days per week work from home. Relocation assistance is available.

Responsibilities
  • Define and execute an AI-driven product vision and strategy for the BIC Community Platform, aligning with Microsoft's business goals and the needs of our global community.
  • Drive the full product lifecycle from identifying problem spaces and conducting user research to defining requirements, overseeing design and development, and managing product launches.
  • Be hands-on with technical execution, partner closely with engineering to prototype, validate, and iterate on features; contribute to architecture discussions and ensure technical feasibility.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across engineering, design, and community management to deliver reliable features that deliver business impact and user value.
  • Champion customer insight and data fluency. Engage directly with community members, conduct user research, and leverage telemetry, metrics, and testing to inform roadmap decisions.
  • Ensure product quality and performance, including reliability, accessibility, and responsiveness.
  • Monitor market trends and competitive landscape. Analyze industry best practices and competitor platforms to identify opportunities for innovation.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years experience in improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market.
  • Technical fluency and hands-on experience working with engineering teams to prototype, validate, and/or deliver product features.
  • Proven track record of leading end-to-end product development for platform or SaaS products.
  • Demonstrated success in driving product strategy and delivering measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience conducting user research, analyzing telemetry, and applying data insights to inform product decisions.
  • Experience with community platforms, social engagement tools, or customer success ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered product features or platforms.
  • Hands-on experience and knowledge of Power Platform.

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
