PositionOverview

InsightisseekingamidlevelCorporateCounsel(Labor&Employment)tojoinourcollaborativeandgloballydistributedLegalteam.Thisroleisidealforanattorneywith4-6yearsoflaborandemploymentlawexperiencewhoislookingtobuildalongterminhousecareerwhilehandlingabroadrangeofemploymentrelatedmatters.

ThepositionisprimarilyfocusedonemploymentandHRlegalsupport,withlimitedexposuretocommercialcontractsandothercorporatematters.YouwillworkcloselywithHumanResources,TalentAcquisition,andbusinessleaderstoprovidepractical,businessfocusedlegalguidancethatsupportsInsight'speoplecentricculture.

KeyResponsibilities

Labor&EmploymentLegalSupport

  • AdviseHR,recruiting,andbusinessleadersonemploymentrelatedmatters,includingcompliancewithapplicablelocal,state,federal,andinternationalemploymentlaws.
  • Provideguidanceonwageandhour,leavesofabsence,accommodations,performancemanagement,employeerelations,discipline,andseparations.
  • Supportandconductinternalinvestigations,includingfactfinding,documentation,andrecommendations.
  • Assistwithandrespondtogovernmentagencyinquiries(e.g.,EEOC,DOL,statehumanrightsagencies).
  • Draft,review,update,andinterpretemploymentpolicies,procedures,andagreements.
  • Monitorchangesinemploymentlawandproactivelycommunicaterisks,trends,andrecommendedactions.

Litigation&RiskManagement

  • Coordinatewithandmanageoutsidecounselonemploymentlitigationandadministrativematters.
  • Supportprelitigationstrategy,riskassessments,andsettlementdiscussions.
  • Assistinmanagingemploymentrelateddisputesandclaimsinacosteffectiveandbusinessalignedmanner.

Training,Governance&LegalOperations

  • Helpdevelopanddelivertrainingprogramsonemploymentcompliance,workplaceconduct,andriskmitigation.
  • Supportimprovementstolegalprocesses,templates,andtoolsusedbyHRandbusinessstakeholders.
  • Workindependentlywhilecollaboratingcloselywithseniorattorneysandcrossfunctionalpartners.
  • Balancecompetingprioritiesinafastpaced,deadlinedrivenenvironment.

Qualifications

Required

  • JurisDoctor(JD)fromanaccreditedlawschool.
  • ActivebaradmissionandgoodstandinginatleastoneU.S.jurisdiction.
  • 4-6yearsoflaborandemploymentlawexperience(lawfirmand/orinhouse).
  • ExperienceadvisingHRandbusinessstakeholdersondaytodayemploymentmatters.
  • Strongwrittenandverbalcommunicationskills,withtheabilitytotranslatelegalconceptsintopracticalbusinessguidance.
  • Abilitytoworkautonomouslywhileexercisingsoundjudgmentonescalationandrisk.
  • ExperienceusinglegaldepartmenttechnologysuchasMicrosoftO365,DocuSign,AdobeSign,andsimilartools.

Preferred/NicetoHave

  • Priorexperiencesupportingalargeorcomplexorganization.
  • Exposuretointernationalemploymentissues(Canadianexperienceaplus,notrequired).
  • Limitedexposuretocommercialcontracting,publicsectorrequirements,orbasicIPconcepts(trademarks/copyrights).
  • ExperiencepartneringcloselywithHR,TalentAcquisition,andbusinessleaders.
