Reporting to the Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, this pivotal role drives initiatives that empower students to thrive academically and professionally. The Director will lead innovative programs, partnerships, and resources that enhance student engagement, belonging, and career readiness-while strategically aligning efforts with college and university goals for recruitment, retention, and graduation. A key priority will be launching **LAUNCH**, a multi-year professional development program debuting in Fall 2026 to prepare undergraduates for graduate education or career success.

What you'll do and what you'll bring:

Position Function:

Reporting to the Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, the Director of Student Success leads the development and implementation of programs, partnerships, and resources that promote student academic success and career readiness. This role serves as a strategic coordinator of student services and engagement activities across the college and university, ensuring alignment with institutional goals for recruitment, retention, and student experience. The Director fosters collaboration among departments and units to create a supportive and high-impact learning environment for all students.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Student Support Services

- Act as the primary liaison for students seeking university and college-level support services.

- Establish and maintain referral relationships across campus to connect students with appropriate resources.

- Collaborate closely with academic advising and student success teams to foster a supportive learning environment.

2. Strategic Student Success Initiatives

- Lead data-informed efforts to enhance existing student success programs and develop new initiatives.

- Coordinate and promote student engagement through strategic programming and event planning that fosters interprofessional collaboration.

- Collaborate with department chairs, the Director of Interprofessional Education, other unit leads, and faculty to support student success.

3. Student Outreach Plan

- Design and implement a comprehensive outreach plan to proactively support students.

- Utilize platforms such as EAB Navigate to document interactions, manage outreach efforts, and monitor student progress.

4.Student Success Courses

- Design, support, and/or teach student success-related courses and/or seminars, including those in the L.A.U.N.C.H. program and other first-year experience offerings, as appropriate.

5. Recruitment

- Serve as the primary representative for undergraduate recruitment efforts in the College of Health.

- Engage with prospective students and families through presentations, meetings, and outreach activities.

- Coordinate and implement the College's participation in university-wide admissions and recruitment events.

6. Retention and Persistence

- Develop and implement strategies to support the retention and persistence of current students, focusing on helping them progress toward timely graduation.

- Promote academic planning, career alignment, and milestone tracking to ensure students remain on a clear path to degree completion.

7. Marketing and Communications

- Collaborate with marketing and communications staff to promote programs, events, and student engagement through social media and other platforms.

- Support efforts to enhance student culture and visibility of college initiatives.

8.Event Strategy and Execution

- Develop and manage a calendar of student-focused events, workshops, and initiatives that support academic success, career readiness, and community building.

- Ensure events are well-planned, well-promoted, and evaluated for impact.

9. Other Duties

- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution

  • Three years of experience in higher education student programming, including advising, admissions, and retention

  • Supervisory experience.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, administration, and governance bodies,

  • Possess strong office computer skills

  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Higher Education/Student Services and demonstrated experience in leading teams and managing conflict.
