Job Description
ECU Office of Innovation and Engagement - National Security and Industry Initiatives ( ONSII) is seeking a Federal Work-Study student to be a Student Administrative Assistant. You will be expected to provide administrative and operational support for office functions supporting national security programs, research initiatives, and external partnerships. Employment is contingent upon the student maintaining Federal Work-Study eligibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general administrative and clerical support.
  • Perform data entry and basic record management.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings and preparing materials.
  • Draft and format routine correspondence.
  • Track tasks and project documentation.
  • Provide customer service and reception support.
  • Support meetings, workshops, and special events.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with university policies.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.)

  • Prior administrative or customer service experience.
  • Interest in national security, research, or public administration.
  • Must be enrolled at ECU and eligible for Federal Work-Study.
  • Basic computer proficiency and organizational skills.

Federal Work-Study Compliance:

  • Must maintain eligibility and adhere to awarded hour limits.
  • Cannot work during scheduled class times.

To be ELIGIBLE for FEDERAL WORK STUDY POSITIONS, students MUST QUALIFY and RECEIVE an AWARD from the ECU Financial Aid Office (Old Cafeteria Complex, 252-328-6610).
