Compensation: $150,000 - $180,000/annually + bonus

Location: Long Island, NY (Hybrid - 4x week on-site)

Position Overview: Our client, a fast-growing manufacturing company on Long Island, is seeking a Tax Manager with deep expertise in corporate and international tax to lead their tax function. This role is highly strategic and hands?on, supporting a complex operational environment. The ideal candidate comes from industries such as manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, retail, or pharmaceutical-not real estate or financial services-and must bring a strong technical background and an active CPA.

Key Responsibilities:
Corporate & International Tax
  • Manage all aspects of corporate tax compliance, planning, and reporting.
  • Review and oversee federal, state, and international tax returns.
  • Lead U.S. international tax matters, foreign tax credits, and transfer pricing.
  • Monitor global tax law developments and ensure compliance across jurisdictions.
Strategic Tax Planning
  • Develop proactive tax strategies that support the company's operational and global growth initiatives.
  • Evaluate and optimize tax impacts of supply?chain changes, cross?border structures, new product launches, and business expansions.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance tax efficiency while mitigating risk.
  • Provide strategic tax insights to senior leadership and support long?term planning.
Tax Reporting & Controls
  • Manage quarterly and annual tax provision (ASC 740) and financial statement tax reporting.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure the accuracy of all tax data.
  • Lead audit processes and manage communications with external auditors and tax authorities.
Cross?Functional Partnership & Leadership
  • Collaborate closely with finance, operations, and external advisors to support business decisions.
  • Mentor and oversee tax staff and assist in building a high?performance tax function.
  • Serve as the organization's internal expert on corporate and international tax issues.

Qualifications:
  • Active CPA - mandatory.
  • 7-10+ years of progressive corporate tax experience, with significant international tax responsibilities.
  • Strong background in manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, retail, or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Not seeking candidates whose experience is rooted in real estate or financial services tax.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience working in operational, multi?entity environments strongly preferred.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
