| Essential Job Duties |
The Co-Coordinator of the North Carolina Local Food Council (
NCLFC) provides shared leadership, coordination, and strategic support for a statewide network of organizations that work in and support local food systems. Working collaboratively with the other Co-Coordinator, and
NCLFC leadership, this position plays a key role in facilitating council operations, strengthening communication and participation across regions and working groups, and advancing resilient local food systems in North Carolina.
Primary Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Council Coordination & Facilitation
- Coordinate and support regular NCLFC Council Calls, Executive Committee meetings, and Regional Representative convenings, including agenda development, communications, and facilitation support
- Support inclusive, effective virtual meetings and collaborative facilitation across a statewide network
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and engagement of Regional Representatives and council members
Working Group Support
- Support NCLFC Working Group Coordinators with planning, communications, and logistical coordination
- Assist with development of annual working group scopes of work and tracking impacts according to NCLFC focus areas
- Support administration and coordination of working group and regional representative stipends
Administrative & Grant Support
- Coordinate administrative processes related to stipends, payments, and basic financial tracking
- Support grant-related documentation, reporting, and coordination with co-coordinator and fiscal agents
Communication
- Draft and contribute to agendas, summaries, reports, and other network communications
- Strengthen communication and alignment across council leadership, regions, working groups, and NCLFCMaintain timely, clear, and professional communication with internal and external partners
- Manage communications which includes website, listserv, and email updates and operations, and preparation of annual or summary reports
Shared Leadership & Strategic Support
- Share leadership responsibilities with the NCLFC Co-Coordinator to ensure continuity, accountability, and balanced workload
- Participate in strategic planning and governance support for NCLFC
This position is currently funded through Dec 2026, with the expectation of ongoing funding. |
