As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly with staff, patients, and visitors while responding to concerns and documenting activity. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to hospital staff, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disorderly conduct, suspicious activity, and medical facility disturbances.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout hospital buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns to report.
  • Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, including observing for proper badging, directing foot traffic, and reporting access control concerns through the proper channels.
  • Support de-escalation efforts during disruptive situations by using verbal techniques, maintaining professional boundaries, and requesting additional resources when needed.
  • Observe and report unusual conditions, alarms, and system notifications, then follow post orders for notifications, documentation, and escalation.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, activity logs, and shift handoffs, maintaining professionalism and discretion in a healthcare location.
  • Assist with security-related escorts for staff and/or visitors when requested, including to vehicles, departments, or other designated areas.
  • Coordinate with nursing staff, facility management, and local first responders as directed by post orders during emergencies and/or drills.
  • Operate security-related equipment such as radios, access control devices, and CCTV as assigned, and report equipment issues through the proper process.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Work in a hospital environment where vaccines are present.
  • Work in a hospital environment where a morgue is present.
  • The client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be able to restrain individuals in a hospital environment.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
