Join Allied Universal at a busy logistics and distribution location as an Access Control Officer, where you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, check in visitors and drivers, and support smooth traffic flow at gates and dock areas. You will conduct routine rounds, document security-related activity, and communicate clearly with site teams. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Operate an access control post by greeting drivers, employees and visitors, verifying identity and authorization, and issuing temporary credentials and/or visitor documentation as required by site policy.
  • Control entry and exit at gates and/or dock areas by reviewing shipment paperwork, checking appointments, and coordinating with site contacts to confirm access requests.
  • Monitor and document inbound and outbound vehicle and pedestrian traffic, maintaining accurate logs and reports in accordance with site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services when appropriate.
  • Monitor cameras and alarm systems when assigned, reporting irregular activity and escalating per post orders.
  • Perform routine patrols of entrances, staging areas and perimeter points as assigned, helping to deter unauthorized access and/or policy violations.
  • Complete written and/or electronic reports such as incident reports, daily activity reports and access control logs with clear, factual details.
  • Communicate professionally with client staff, contractors and delivery personnel to support orderly operations and adherence to site rules.
  • Support Allied Universal and client procedures for key control, badge control and restricted area access, escalating discrepancies to supervision per site policy.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
