Job Description




As a Security Officer - Tenant Services Desk in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As a Front Desk Officer at a premier commercial real estate location, you will welcome tenants and visitors, support access control and badge check-in, and monitor cameras, alarms, and key activity to help identify security-related concerns. You will be a visible, customer-focused presence, communicate clearly with building teams, and document activity with care. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and contractors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
  • Staff the front desk and serve as the primary point of contact for security-related questions, requests for assistance, and general building inquiries.
  • Control access to the property by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, managing guest registration, and directing individuals to approved destinations.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and other building systems from the front desk and report unusual activity according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications to building management and/or emergency services when directed by post orders.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, shift logs, and access records, and communicate relevant updates during shift turnovers.
  • Support lobby order and professionalism by observing for unauthorized persons, unattended items, and suspicious behavior that may help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Receive and route calls, emails, and radio communications, and dispatch notifications to building staff and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
  • Assist with key and credential control processes, including tracking, issuing, and documenting returns according to site-specific policies.
  • Provide escort and customer assistance requests as assigned by post orders, such as directing deliveries to designated receiving areas and coordinating vendor check-in procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • A guard card and/or applicable license is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
