Job Description




As a Security Officer - Petrochemical Patrol in Bay Saint Louis, MS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle-area patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and document observations with clear communication. You will support access control procedures, respond to calls for service, and deliver customer service that reflects our agile, reliable, innovative, and people-first culture, acting with integrity and teamwork every shift.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including production, warehouse, tank farm and/or loading areas as assigned. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access points, check identification and/or site credentials, and direct visitors, contractors and/or drivers according to site-specific procedures.
  • Perform vehicle and/or bag checks when authorized by site policy, documenting findings and escalating concerns through the chain of command.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras and/or other monitoring systems, and report unusual conditions, damaged fencing, open doors, spills and/or unauthorized activity to the appropriate contacts.
  • Maintain detailed incident reports, patrol logs and/or shift activity reports per Allied Universal and client requirements.
  • Coordinate with site operations, maintenance and/or emergency personnel during alarms, evacuations and/or shelter-in-place events as directed by post orders.
  • Help to deter unauthorized entry, theft and/or property damage through high-visibility presence, consistent patrol patterns and timely reporting.
  • Support a professional workplace by answering questions, providing directions and managing minor issues before they escalate.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 6+ months of security experience.
  • Have a TSA issued TWIC.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
