As a Security Guard - Petrochemical Yard Patrol Driver in Wilmington, DE, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver's license in line with AU Driver Policy Requirements. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, production areas, parking areas, and perimeter fencing to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
  • Monitor gates and access points, verify authorization as required by post orders, and help to maintain controlled entry and exit for people, vehicles, and deliveries.
  • Observe operations and surroundings for unusual conditions such as unauthorized personnel, suspicious packages, and/or signs of tampering, and report findings per site policy.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, disturbances, medical incidents, and/or environmental events, and notify site contacts and public responders as directed.
  • Complete detailed reports on shift activity, incidents, patrol observations, and policy violations using required paper and/or electronic systems.
  • Assist with visitor and contractor check-in, badge handling, and/or directions, while maintaining a professional presence and respectful communication.
  • Support site emergency procedures by helping with evacuations, accountability steps, and/or establishing controlled areas when directed by site leadership.
  • Perform vehicle and perimeter checks as required, including verifying seals, checking for unauthorized items, and/or documenting discrepancies for follow-up.
  • Maintain a neat post area and report equipment issues, lighting outages, fence damage, and/or other hazards to the appropriate site contact per procedure.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
