Job Description




As a Security Officer - Residential Gate Driver in Frisco, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. Join Allied Universal at a residential community where you will greet residents and guests, manage access control and badges, check IDs and visitor logs, and complete routine patrols to help reduce security-related issues. You will communicate clearly, assist with questions, and document activity using a computer or tablet as needed. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license under AU Driver Policy Requirements, supported by a caring, integrity-driven team.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at community entry points by verifying credentials, authorizing entry, issuing visitor passes, and maintaining visitor and contractor logs per site requirements.
  • Monitor vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow at gates and access points, provide directions, and communicate entry instructions clearly and courteously.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and notify site contacts and/or emergency services as required.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, unsecured doors or gates, parking and access concerns, and other policy violations, and document findings per post orders.
  • Complete patrols of common areas and perimeter locations as assigned, and conduct regular and random rounds to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Operate security-related systems and equipment such as radios, access control devices, gate controls, CCTV, and alarm panels as applicable to the location.
  • Write detailed incident reports, shift activity logs, and access control documentation, and communicate notable events during shift turnovers.
  • Provide assistance with resident service requests within post scope, including directing deliveries, coordinating vendor access, and supporting community events as assigned.
  • Maintain a professional presence at posts and during rounds, follow all site-specific policies, and comply with Allied Universal standards and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
