Description Job Title: Information Technology - Solutions Architect (Java Solutions Architect)- Needs to be hands on but need to have experience as a solutions architect with a larger company. Job Description: Project Overview / Contractor's Role: The Technical Lead will serve as a key partner to product owners and business leaders, ensuring accountability for system stability, delivery excellence, and architectural integrity across multiple initiatives. This individual will provide technical leadership, guide engineering practices, and drive high-quality, secure, and scalable solutions that align with enterprise strategy. This role combines strategic architectural direction with hands-on technical leadership. By ensuring stability, scalability, and adherence to engineering best practices, the Technical Lead plays a critical role in aligning technology delivery with business outcomes. Experience Level: Senior - 3 Qualifications/Skills: 15+ years of software engineering and architectural experience in complex enterprise environments. Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud platforms (Azure preferred), and modern integration and deployment patterns. Define and deliver a large enterprise-scale big data ecosystem; evaluate existing data architecture and work with the team members to continuously enhance and evolve the data technology stack. Proven ability to lead technical teams, manage priorities, and drive system stability and delivery outcomes. Strong understanding of risk management, security, and compliance within regulated industries (financial services preferred). Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical problem-solving skills. Tasks & Responsibilities: * Stakeholder Partnership: Collaborate with product owners, business leaders, and engineering teams to translate priorities into actionable plans and ensure timely delivery of commitments. * Delivery Ownership & Stability: Take end-to-end responsibility for technical deliverables, ensuring quality, reliability, and operational stability through proactive monitoring and issue resolution. * Technical Leadership: Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving for complex technical challenges, drive root cause analysis, and implement durable solutions. * Architecture & Standards: Define and uphold architectural direction, establish software engineering foundations, and enforce best practices across design, development, testing, and deployment. * Risk & Security Controls: Champion secure coding, risk identification, and mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance with enterprise and regulatory standards. * Mentorship & Growth: Mentor engineers, promote technical excellence, and foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous learning. * Collaboration & Communication: Partner closely with cross-functional teams to ensure transparency, effective knowledge sharing, and alignment on strategic and tactical objectives. Cloud Platform / Distributed Systems. Work Streams Enterprise Applications Back End Data Processing Moving one system to another Primarily a messaging platform where one hands to another and so on. Using Java in one of the work streams Good Java background, cloud implementation in Azure (Kubernetes / AKS) Azure Networking Experience implementing large scale projects in Azure. Snowflake - many Data Layers being used for transformation including orchestration. Data Integration within Azure Snowflake is nice to have / not mandatory They have already established high level architecture. Engineering - already Tech Leadership of the project, big picture and provide technical guidance to development staff. Environment is currently in UAT. Candidate will provide additional technical direction. 70% MACRO Level / 30% In the Weeds / MICRO LEVEL Will be working with both Data and Java Engineering Cloud Cluster experience will be helpful. Using JSON right now for messaging. Already in place and don't expect it to change much. Need more help on the data integration to migrate Data from PCF to On-Prem. The program will eventually provide End to End Solution for internal and external stakeholders. Years of Experience: 15+ years of experience preferred. Because they have very Senior level developers on the team. Will not be developing but they will need to read code and review logs, code, run queries, analyze and guide the team with their findings. Architectural Framework experience required.
