What You Can Expect

As a Inventory Specialist at our University of Iowa location, you will support campus utility operations by managing warehouse stock, inventory control, and material flow that enables maintenance and capital work to stay on schedule. You will work closely with the site administrator, financial manager, planning and scheduling staff, and operations managers to ensure materials are available, accurately tracked, and issued to the correct work orders.

Reporting to the Distribution Planner your roles and responsibilities include:



  • Gain understanding of Maximo workflows supporting parts procurement, stocking, warehousing, distribution, and charging to correct accounts
  • Coordinate inventory management activities including barcoding, tracking, and replenishment of stock
  • Work with planners to understand parts criticality and establish minimum stock quantities
  • Maintain warehouse layout, placement, and overall organization of spare parts
  • Operate forklifts and portable lift equipment to safely store and retrieve materials
  • Support kitting of parts based on work plans and specific work order requirements
  • Follow ENGIE procurement processes and applicable purchasing policies
  • Adhere to and promote all ENGIE safety procedures related to warehouse operations



What You'll Bring



  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in an industrial or utility environment working with parts ordering and management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams
  • Prior forklift experience and the ability to become certified in safe forklift operation and inspection
  • Self-motivated and work well independently
  • Organization and multi-tasking skills that strike a balance among validation/verification, requirements analysis, customer interaction and project oversight



Additional Details



  • This role requires on site attendance five (5) days per week
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving record for use of company vehicles around campus
  • This position consists of 5% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies



Compensation

Hourly Range: $19.95 - $30.57 USD hourly

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
