The Risk team within S&EM is responsible for the measurement, control, and reporting of all market-based activities as well as the strategic management of risk capital across these activities, notably the trading & portfolio management activities of ENGIE Energy Marketing, the B2B Retail Supply organization and the Renewable Assets owned by ENGIE North America.

As a senior member of the Supply & Energy Management (S&EM) Risk & Finance Group, you will report to the Portfolio Analysis Director and will provide expert analytical, strategic, and market insight to evaluate portfolio risk and support front-office activities within defined risk mandates. This role is pivotal in shaping risk management frameworks and supporting commercial decision-making across ENGIE's North American portfolio.

  • Track, analyze, and synthesize actionable intelligence on ISO and power market developments (ERCOT, PJM, SPP, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE), regulatory changes, and their impact on commodity risk positions
  • Evaluate and quantify risk exposures in renewable assets, retail supply books, and integrated portfolios, leveraging benchmarking and competitive assessments
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and expertise centers to share knowledge, support business development, and provide strategic guidance on market fundamentals, renewable energy trends, and PPA pricing opportunities
  • Develop and defend actionable recommendations to senior leadership, ensuring alignment with ENGIE's risk appetite and strategic objectives
  • Be equally adept as an individual contributor or in cross-functional team settings. Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of analytical rigor and continuous improvement

  • Knowledge of financial derivatives, commodity markets (power, gas, environmental products), a portfolio approach to valuation, where assets sit within an integrated value chain, and regulatory frameworks
  • Working proficiency in data analysis and modeling tools (Excel/VBA, SQL, Python, R, ETRM systems)
  • Resourceful with ability to use a variety of tools, data sources, and systems; inherent curiosity to procure and test new resources
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex analyses and defend recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work on cross-functional projects and stakeholder engagement
  • Analytical profile, ability to provide precise and solid insights, identify causes and conditions, structure action plans, and propose and defend those to the leadership
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy and limited oversight.
